Must See!. This place rocks! They have a great menu and the people working her are very nice.

The only reason I go here is for the artwork on the walls – they feature local artists and it’s truly amazing to see what our locals are capable of – all great artists in my book!

I usually stop in for Happy Hour when they have the $3 drinks – best deal in town in my opinion!

Great Place to Congregate. Yes, they have $10 burgers. So what, they're worth it. If you want cheap, try McDonalds. The burgers are gourmet quality with a great selection of beers. What else does one need?

If nothing else is going on.. It is an alright place. It is not bad, it is just not special. I have gone there a few times and it just ends up being a little of a let down.

Try the breakfast before complaining!. I met up with friends at Lukas last Sunday for Breakfast, and every single thing was fantastic -- OK I could have used a refill for my coffee, but everything else was awesome, and I"m incredibly fussy about my breakfast.

I've heard a few things about the evenings there which were all kind of negative.. but I'd still like to give it a try.

I will go back for breakie as I've raved to a lot of my peeps about it.

not an uptown hipster? forget about it!!!. I guess if you are not an uptown hipster then the staff at Luka's can't be bothered to serve/help you!! If fact they can't even see you they just look right through you. What a snooty place that is just a totaly waste of time. Went looking for a real "taproom" and found this poor excuse of a restaurant. The food is bland and overpriced, the staff is totally disinterested in serving you and the atmosphere lousy. Downtown Oakland on the weekend looks like something out of a last man on earth sci-fi movie. Oakland has a lot to offer but Luca's is not it. WELL maybe if you are an uptown hipster you will like it but for the rest of us poor mortals ugh. Joe Bob says two thumbs down.

Danger Will Robinson, Danger Danger. Lazy service, overpiced food and so loud you can't even think. What was John Birdsall the food critic thinking when he praised this place recently??? Avoid this joint unless you enjoy being ignored and overcharged for mediocre food. And don't forget the view of the empty streets of down town Oakland. Yuck

Bad Service, Bad Food, Bad Atmosphere. I sure wish I had read the reviews here before I wasted an evening at Luca's!! The service is far worse then even the reviews here indicate. The staff walks right by you and pretend not to see you or make eye contact. Our meal was overpriced and arrived late and cold. The "Taproom" is cold, loud and dull with no sense of warmth or feel of a pub. Stick to College Ave or Telegraph Ave restaurants if you want a fun, lively atmosphere and good food.

Avoid this place if you just want a beer on a Sunday afternoon!. Avoid this place at all cost!!! The staff is totally rude and if you complain to the management you will find them equally rude! We left after being ignored by the staff for 15 minutes while they stood around and talked with the bar tender. When I complained via e-mail the management blamed me for not seeing the "small" sign at the front door that said to seat yourself at the bar. While we left because of the service the atmosphere was cold and unfriendly. For a beer on a Sunday afternoon go to Ben & Nicks or Triple Rock.
