Carl was great on the phone. He told me what he thought it might be by my explanation of what happened and prepared me for the worst (sticker shock), just in case it was something else. I
appreciated knowing that up front.
Jeremy came out two hours ahead of schedule (called me first to make certain I'd be home), diagnosed the problem (broken spring)...gear box was fine. He gave me several options for replacement. I chose one; he replaced the spring and was on his way. EXCELLENT SERVICE. I would recommend them.
If you're concerned about price, and who isn't these days, just be sure to ask up front when you call. They will gladly give you some idea. Service calls can be expensive (with ANY service/product) and it's understandable. A job might take 20 minutes, but they don't know that until they come out and see what the problem is and then there's drive time, etc. Just ask up front and you won't be surprised.…

I'm thoroughly dissatisfied with the Contra Costa Door service pricing policy!
I called for service on a garage door that was randomly sticking in a partial-open position.
The technician made a "slight adjustment" ... his words and spent less than 20 min at my home.
The "minimum charge" rate was $129 - for a minor adjustment that took less than 20 minutes!
I will NEVER call CCD for service again ... they prey on retired people like myself with their outragous rates.
I will also tell friends/family not to use CCD.
Disgruntled home owner!…
