The Alameda outpost of this SF mini burger chain brings a full bar and sit-down service next to the city's oldest movie theater..
Burger lovers could spend days sampling every winner on this menu, grilled to individual specs and heaped with gourmet fixings just like the San Francisco locations have been serving for years. Rather than the order-and-sit set-up of the SF spots, though, Alameda takes it up a notch to include proper table service in a more traditional diner setting, including a spatious sidewalk patio and sports bar-like area with tall cocktail tables and big-screen TVs. The menu features build-your-own burgers with choice of various meat or veggie patties and toppers ranging from the familiar (sauteed mushrooms) to the bizarro (sauteed mango). For good measure, there are hot dogs, salads and a few grab bag items like fish and chips, but the place isn't called BurgerMeister for nothing.
