Avoid Sunday evenings, and perhaps other nights as well..
very slow service, dried out fish and lamb chops (which was a special for the evening at $32), tasteless pasta - this was on Sunday night with restaurant about 50% filled. I would not recommend this restaurant. When we came, they did not have menues for us and we had to wait until another table had finished using their copies. This set the tone for the rest of our meal. Eveyone was very disappointed with the meal.
decent food; service and service-attitude lacking.
it's nice to have an upscale offering in the neighborhood...
BUT they need to hire experienced wait-persons, who not only know the food and service, but who also are at ease. I was uncomfortable waiting for him to open and serve the wine and watching him fumble.
Watch your credit card, too. They added an amount for tip after we both signed and left (we had split the $400 tab for a party of 6).
Turns out the tab had "tip included", but they didn't put that amount on the ticket!!
charming restaurant with amazing food.
We've eaten there twice and both times we were very impressed with the food. Our steak and chicken were perfectly done and the artichoke and beet salads were stand outs, as well. To top it off, the atmosphere was charming and the service, gracious. You can tell the owner has put her heart and soul into the "new" Post Meridian. If you are looking for a SPECIAL place to dine in Berkeley or Albany, take the extra five minutes to discover this gem.
