Food versus 'tude.
The sushi is top notch. As good if not better than Kirala's. The sorbet is a refreshing treat. Miso is wonderful. The salad is odd, ceasar with sushi?
Prices are reasonable until you realize you have to pay extra for miso and salad. Price depends on what you order.
Have been there on five different occasions with different size groups and the service has always left something to be desired. Bad attitude. If you don't mind putting up for with terrible service for that price then consider it. After a while, it gets old.

Best Place in the East Bay.
This place is WONDERFUL!!! I love sushi and Japanese food. I will jump at any chance to try some, but the fish has GOT to be FRESH! And it definitely was here! Once, I was in the mood for some Agadashi Tofu, they didn't have it but had Agadashi Potatoes instead. Incredible The restaurant is a little on the small side, so don't go with a large group. There's a sit-up bar where you can watch him make your sushi. They are all wonderful and attentive. I've never had any problems with anyone. It's not really a romantic place- it doesn't carry that atmosphere like Kamakura does, but the food is much better. And I think the prices are better, too!
