This place is a great idea! I ordered something that was naturally vegan, like pasta so I wouldn't be disappointed. It was just o.k. though. However, I tasted my friends carrot cake and that was quite tasty. The chocolate donut I had though was not. They used the term chocolate and donut very loosely, as if it resembled either of the afore mentioned items. It was more like a wheat hoop with something slightly sweet on top of it. It was very dry.

Normally this place is a favorite of the Berkeley dinning but my last time there it was a disappointment. i ordered the spinach and quinoa salad but it did not have enough dressing and the portions were smaller then normal. no one took our order for a really long time and the service wasn't that great even though there weren't many customers.

I have been dining at Herbivore for a decade now, and I must say there is a great change happening:). I have always loved the diverse menu full of endless tasty goodness, but have always been baffled by such chaotic service. It always, no matter when I went has beeen hap hazard. Either there were not enough staff, or just someone that seemed to know nothing about the menu. I have been a frequent regular of both the Divisadero, and Valencia locations, and just this past year Berkeley. (i moved to Berkeley 8 months ago.) I must say at first it was the same old experience, great food / Terrible service. I don`t know what has changed, but the last 4-6 visits have been outstanding!!! Extremely friendly and prompt service, and great food. One of my many favorites is the tofu red curry MMMMMMMyum. I usually dine here 1-2 times per week. & the fabulous waitress had also mentioned to me that they had a full bar!!! Can you believe it great food awsome service and cocktails too boot. I love this place!! it seem to get even better every time I go.
