TERRIBLE BUSINESS. I would NOT reccomend this place to anybody. The beds are extremely outdated, the lights seem to NEVER be changed, and a lot of lights are out completely. I tan a lot, and one session at Glow Tanning in a REGULAR bed will give more color than the "High Pressure" "UV Scan" at Soleil. You can just tell the lights at Soleil don't do the job, not to mention there are CRACKS in all the OLD BEDS, I am personally worried about the bed breaking while somebody is using them. Also, they only had three bottles of lotion to chose from, not three kinds, THREE TOTAL! They sell outdated lotion which can be purchased online for a quarter of the price, and the faulty equiptment is more likely to give you cancer or a nasty rash than a good tan.
I am contributing to the "arrogant prick" comment made by another user. I know nothing of this places facilities, however, have a little more insight into the owner. A friend had just started working, the interview went great and she was told she was exactly what they needed. She has beauty experience and knows her stuff, was just looking for a part time position while going to school for beauty.
Her first day, training in oakland, saw one-girl "fired" (this being after he "hired" her) and kicked out of the office and made an example of for not knowing the answer to a question...ok, maybe it was something you need to know, but I know in the REAL business world, education is broadened by asking questions, making mistakes, and learning from the experience. Anyway, then my friends first day comes along, not only is it her first day being 2-days after her interview, but she is requested to open.
With no customers around, simply her and the owner, she asked if she might be able to change up the "sales pitch" for the lotions such that it was more suitable to her personality. The response was quick and curt..."you're fired".
I read a lot of articles from business professionals regarding the art of sales, managing sales staff, and running a small business. I supposed he missed the whole part about business only being as strong as it's weakest link, and it's no surprise his staff is uneducated and lazy, he clearly prefers employees that don't add value, but simply take their position at face value and yessir to all HIS uneducated whims.
This business should fail so something better can replace it.
Tried to Scam me with Platinum Package. I just signed up for the Platinum Package on 7/28 (unlimited tanning for $39.99/month) at the Pleasant Hill location. I went in today and was told that I have to pay $57.99, because of a glitch in the billing system in which they overcharged all of the Platinum clients. I was told that she couldn't override the "past due balance" to allow me to tan. The "past due balance" was THEIR FAULT - NOT MINE. The clerk told me that the monthly fee was now $43.99 because of the "tanning tax". She was very rude when I explained that I had only been a client for a few days, and felt like it was a little odd for the 6 month minimum "contract" be changed without my approval. Not only was I a client, I paid for two of my friends to get a month of unlimited tanning. In one day, you made $250 from me, and now this? I'M NOT HAPPY AND WILL GO ELSEWHERE.
The Best tanning Experiance EVER!!. I go tanning pretty frequently and have tried multiple other places in the nearby areas This place wipes the competition under the table.. The customer service is amazing.The staff is very friendly and professional. You don't walk in to a teenage girl slumped over the counter chewing gum and twirling her hair, talking on her cell phone while typing your name into the computer. The staff members greet you when you walk in and leave, and are available for you to ask questions without you feeling like you're bothering them, or keeping them from closing because they have a party to go to. You can tell they are very client oriented and have all kinds of specials that meet your needs in price/quantity. All my friends go here and they LOVE IT. Even my my lighter complexion friends because they have a specialized bed for customers who have light skin that normally burns.. the UvScan bed...its amazing!!

I love this place! One of the most beautiful tanning salons I've seen! The staff is awesome and I love the fact they know who I am when I walk in there (not that I visit on a daily basis but I've been a member for several years now!)

*ITCH. Your a miserble *ITCH...the lotions are and always have been 49.99. I am a long time customer and enjoy this salon very much. You cant tell the exact UVB and UVA ratio being released from beds. You should know that if you are "tanning certified". Anyway this place is great Ive been to all the locations, it is very clean and has amazing prices. Don't trust the other persons review she is miserble, she must of had a bad experience or got burned by going to long, which I am sorry wouldnt that be her fault? Soleil is AWESOME....I speak from experience! I love this place the beds are awesome and they are extremely clean. What else could you ask for.
Frighteningly Uneducated Staff. The facilities are fine in terms of cleanliness and results. However, if you're looking for a salon that has a staff that can tell you things like, UVB content of a bed (the burning rays) or Does this lotion have self tanner in it? Go elsewhere. The girl working there actually told me verbatim that the owners' only concern is that she "know how to work the cash register". You can tell that like a smart businessman, he taught them to give new customers a tour of the facility. However, her tour was worse than half-assed. She failed to open the doors to the rooms; just merely gestured at the closed door and mumbled that, "This one is a blank and this one is cool because it spins..." It's scary that people who are in charge of the safety of others' largest organ; the skin, know absolutely nothing about helping people who may not know all that much about tanning. I happen to be a skin care expert and NTTI certified so going in there was an unfortunate experience for me. In addition, they have a limited selection of lotion and price them all at $45 when I'm sure they vary in retail pricing. But if you know how to turn the bed on without instruction and happen to be certified by the tanning training institute like myself than you should be fine here.
