Don't waste your time.... So, I messed something up on my tax forms, and wanted help with the 1040x to fix it.

I called H&R block and explained that I'd done my taxes myself, but needed help with a form to fix it. Could they do that, and how much would it cost?

The receptionist told me they could, that the price varies, but things like that cost as little as $20, and to come on in for a 12pm appointment.

I arrived at 11:58, and was told the person I had an appointment with had just stepped out to lunch. He returned 15 minutes later.

I told him the same thing I'd told the receptionist, and he explained that they would actually have to re-file all of my tax forms, and charge for this. He told me she must have misunderstood me on the phone (though I was very clear).

I asked how much that would all cost, and said I was expecting around $20. He said he'd have to calculate it. I asked for the ballpark, and he again said he'd have to calculate it. The first number he pulled up was $71, and he wasn't even done with the calculation.

I walked out of H&R block feeling misled, and like my time had been wasted. Think I will try the tax center at the library instead.
