don't waste your time!. the service is poor, the quality of sushi is that of a grocery store pre-packaged sushi. they are slow, the only good thing was the liquer, and you can get that anywhere!

Average sushi. Very poor service.. 6 PM rush on a Wed night and the place was packed. Not nearly enough waitresses. Wait to be greeted. Long wait for drink order. Long wait for food. Waitress rarely stopped by (perhaps because I was a single). The three guys in the table next to me received each of their entres five minutes apart. Asked for spoon for my miso soup - never came - I eventually got up and got my own. Was told 6-pc sushi special was all maguro - it came as half maguro and half toro (I do not like toro). Vegatable dumplings came hot/good. Tempura was almost warm. I can't remember the last time I left a measly 10% tip (and even that was generous).

Fresh Sushi and Great Cocktails. My friend was famished after her flight from Seattle to Oakland so we decided to grab a bite to eat and cocktail (or two) at Yoshino Sushi by the airport. We shared tried the Saba and Sake Nigiri and they were excellent- it was very fresh fish. I also really liked the grilled scallop appetizer with house made ponzu sauce. The service was very gracious and we had a great time catching up. I would definitely recommend Yoshino as a great spot for sushi.

Please save yourself the time and headache.... just don't go!. I don't even know where to begin on this place. THEIR SERVICE STINKS!!! I called to place a lunch take out and they put me on hold for 10 minutes and no one comes back to answer the call so I just hung up. So, I decided to place my order by fax. Ten minutes later, I called to confirm that they'd received my fax... no one seems to know where it went. The guy asked me to refax it, but I told him that I'd rather just give him the order over the phone since he's already on the phone. He told me that it would take about ten minutes. I drive there and waited in the pick up area for 15 minutes and no one came to ask me if I needed help. When I asked for assistance, they just told me that someone would be with me so I waited another five minutes. After that, I just walked out and didn't even bother to wait for the food because it was even all that good from the last three times that I've been there for dinner. The only reason why I went there was because it was the closest sushi place to where I worked. I'd give it a BIG FAT ZERO, but then that option's not available.

Never Go Back!!. I just ate at this resturant and will never go back. I picked out 3 bones from the fish on my sushi roll, and a piece of crab shell. When I told the waitress she simple replied "Bones allways in there, you eat bones. Bones ok." Then she walked away. I also paid $12 For a small sparkling sake when it is usually $6 everywhere else. Not to mention all the rolls were priced on average $2 more than other places. I paid almost $7 for a philly roll:(

Awesome Sushi, Awesome Service. As a sushi connoisseur, I highly recommend Yoshino's Sushi on Hegenberger in Oakland. The food is fresh and tasty with a wide variety to choose from. If you're not into sushi, try their Ribeye steak, noodle dishes, or Bento boxes. The portions are generous and the chefs aim to please. If you want a special combination not on the menu, the chefs will do everything in their power to create it for you. They may not want that advertised (I don't know), but I've seen it happen. The ambience is very pleasant and soothing. It makes for a great escape if only for a couple of hours. The staff are very attentive and accommodating (and fun). I cannot say enough about this establishment. It's a must. Oh, and don't forget happy hour and the great food and drink selection they offer!

Good sushi for the airport crowd. Nothing to write home about.. Not good on the atmosphere but sushi was fresh, service was good, and overall the experience was enjoyable. I would say this is a good sushi joint for the traveler staying at one of the airport hotels looking for their sushi "fix" but definitely not a destination spot for anyone looking for a truly, great sushi meal.
