THIS BUSINESS IS A FRAUD AND A CHEAT! They practice the bait and switch technique and Shelby DOES lie!!!!!

ONE STAR IS TOO MUCH! IT SHOULD BE ZERO!

Now the facts:

I scheduled an appointment to get the Keratin Treatment on December 28th. I have had many Keratin treatments before. The process she used was NOT what I had experienced. I gently questioned Shelby and Sandy and was assured it was the Keratin treatment. I did ask questions throughout the process but the answers seemed vague.

They washed my hair and then proceeded to brush my hair with a mixture that smelled and looked like REGULAR PERM solution. I asked why they hadn't used the dryer on my hair or the flat iron and I was told that it will happen at the end. They combed my hair straight and let the solution sit on my head for about a half hour or so.

They rinsed my hair, applied another solution and let it sit and rinsed it off. At this point my hair was soft and glossy. It was a VERY similar result to having a GLOSS done (which I have had done by another salon).

After the rinse, Sandy blew dried my hair as you normally would when you get some type of hair service and only flat ironed part of my hair. As she flat ironed, there was no smoke, or smell that is associated with a Keratin treatment. I asked about that and received another vague answer.

At the end of the process, I asked Shelby about the maintenance and how long I can expect this to last. As she replied, her face squished up as if she did something wrong and tried to tell me in a soft voice that it was more permanent that "those types of treatments". And then proceeded to spew about how "those types of treatments" ruin your hair, and that is why my ends were dry (um, really? If it were that bad why would only the ends be affected??). She went on to talk about that she doesn't use "those types of treatments" because she believes in integrity. When she was done spewing, I asked if this was similar to the Japanese Thermal Straightening Process and she said yes. I received a $500 treatment for a great price and she babbled something about not putting a keratin treatment over what I just received because it damages the hair. I was totally confused walking out.

Oh, my hair looked great out the door....two days later I washed my hair (a two day wait was recommended by Shelby) there are sections of my hair that are FRIED at the ROOTS!

Now my thoughts:

CUT THE BULL CRAP SHELBY, ET AL. - Integrity my big toe! I am pissed about having permanently straight hair!! If I wanted a home perm and gloss I could have done it myself. I am more pissed about Shelby lying and using the word integrity in the same sentence! And yes, I left a tip....I know, stupid of me but I know karma will come down on that damned place!

WORST SALON EVER!!!!!

DO NOT GO T THIS SALON!!!! As a former client of the Shelby Sexton Salon I would advise no one to spend their money here. Not only was it the most unprofessional place I’ve EVER been too, it was way too expensive for the lack of service I received. Not to mention Shelby is so scatterbrained that my appointments were never on time and my hair color was never consistent. I was constantly pawned off to her assistants to do my hair and still had to pay the full Shelby price.

On several occasions my appointment was moved (and hour before) just because Shelby didn’t feel like doing my hair. She made it a hard environment to relax in (which is what I go to the salon to do) by talking about all her personal issues that were inappropriate. I would definitely advise against this salon seeing how there are much more professional and cheaper places in Lafayette that can do a much better job.

Best Haircut - EVER

I searched and searched online as to what to do with my hair. Once I found out how much a hair transplant cost, I decided to forget it! So, yesterday, I found a hair stylist online. Her name is Shelby Sexton from Lafayette...and she did a FABULOUS job on me! It cost me $80. It was worth it! She cut it sporty like and combed it over differently......I have no collic or bald spot showing... and it's so cute............I LOVE IT! I washed it and tried doing it this morning and I am THRILLED....it looks the same way she did it! YAY!!!!! NOW, I'M HOOKED!

Saved My Hair!

I found a great stylist with great prices! Although the custumer service could be better I love my stylist and she makes up for it. After my first visit with Cristina my hair was compleatly transformed into something it had never known, BEAUTY! The color is very natural and my cut was great to work with! I get soooo many compliments and I always strongly recommend Cristina.

I am so glad I found Shelby Sexton's salon. After living here quite a few years and struggling to find a decent cut + color, I had almost given up. The salon is not only gorgeous, clean and stylish inside and out, but the work they do is fantastic and they carry the best products (Kerastase). It's always a pleasure to go get my hair done now and I enjoy my time at the salon. Friendly, reasonably-priced, good parking, and nice atmosphere. Highly recommend.
