NOY WHAT IT USED TO BE!. Not what it used to be! I have gone to seversl of the La Pinata resturaunts inthe area and sadly Concord is one of the worst. It started out well but has slowly taken a nose dive in the past year. On my most recent visit the taco shell was stale and cold along with the service. I don't want to see the waiters and waitresses jumping around playing games while waiting for service. No wonder the resturaunt was almost empyt on a Friday nIght. They may be able to stay open in this economy only due to the tequila bar but certianly not for the food or service. On previous visits the Chile Rellino was cold and still frozen in the middle. The prices have also gone up while the quality of service has dropped. I will not return. The drive to Alameda's Alcupoco is far better and well worth it for the food, pricing and service.

Great place for a "first date" with excellent food & tequila to break the ice.. I decided to recommend La Pinata in Concord to a match(dot)com first date I went on last Thursday night, and we had a great time eatring abundant tacos, enchiladas, guacamole, and margaritas that were garnished with sugar cane. The service was perfectly attentive, and the shot of Patron served as an excellent icebreaker for the both of us at about mid-meal. They have a huge space for large parties (we witnessed a birthday party of 20 people), and they have a fantastic bar space which is towards the back of the restaurant. I recommended La Pinata for any/all types of occasions, family-friendly & tequila lovers both.

Better food at nearby taquerias. I am originally from the San Jose area and I guess I that has made me picky about my mexian restaurant. The food here is NOTHING spectacular. I have been about 3 or 4 times for lunch and ordered a different item each time. The mole was WAY to salty. There is no need to spend the extra money at this restaurant when you can just go a block to Los Gallos and get something better for cheaper, unless it is tequila you are after, then by all means go to the bar here. They have a tequila shot that is something like $179 per shot!
