Hacienda Grill
Authentic Mexican food.
My husband is from San Diego, and he's such a snob about Mexican food. I've been telling him for years that we have authentic Mexican food in Northern California, but he's never been impressed. Then, finally, we went to Hacienda Grill ... again, and again, and again. It is absolutely delicious. We can both agree that it's the best Mexican food that either of us has had in a long time.
They have excellent chips and salsa. He likes the chicken torta and enchilada (get the "gravy"). I like the Mexican tostada in the fried bowl and the caesar salad (I know!) It's always busy, especially when the nearby businesses are at lunch, but even at odd hours on the weekends. And they always have a good selection of aqua frescas. Bonus: They usually have a futbol game on tv.
Best Mexican comfort food at the best prices!.
On any given night, when I am not in any mood to cook, I let Hacienda do all the work and I am never disappointed. From the cheerful owners to the eager-to-please waitstaff, dinner at Hacienda's is always a friendly experience. The food is also never a disappointment. My favorite is their enchilada platter served with a rojo or verde sauce. My BF's favorite is their chicken burrito. And if you are just not in the mood for Mexican food, try their other dishes, like their soup of the day, their pasta selections or, the ever safe, burger and fries.
The place is never extremely busy but they do get a lot of traffic from Kaiser employees and patients across the street. We also see a lot of firefighters and police officers frequenting the place for lunch and dinner. If you're in the neighborhood, check it out!
