In Short
This stark-white minimalist shop, inspired by the design and fashion capital of Milan, is anything but plain vanilla: The energy is spent on top-notch gelato and sorbetto. All 24 flavors are made on site daily; they rotate based on availability and ripeness of fruit. The lighter, creamier style, typical of northern Italy, includes traditional Italian favorites such as cassata (Sicilian cake with candied orange fruit) and torroncino (honey nougat).

I love that it's non-dairy because I feel like you don't find that very often and it's important. The flavors are great! Everything is very unique and the store has a great atmosphere. Try Sade, it's creamy and buttery, delicious.

Look Good:
Flavors are listed by their Italian names, so don't be afraid to ask. Staff is there to help, and there's no limit on samples.
Fun Fact:
The radio station playing in the background is piped in live from Milan.
Know Before You Go:
Avoid the hunt (and the fees) for parking by taking BART. The shop is directly across from the Downtown Berkeley stop.
