I just bought my second GTI from this dealership for the same reason I bought my first one -- they take care of me.
Sales: I decided to trade in my older (2009) GTI for a newer one and had a very positive experience. Chris and Connie listened to my preferences and concerns and were able to find me the perfect car with everything I wanted. When it came down to actually purchasing the car, Doug worked hard to accommodate my budget constraints which led to me getting a fantastic deal on my car.
Service: I love everyone in Service! The technicians are personable, very knowledgeable and not afraid to interact w/ customers with any questions they have.
Over all: Given my experience w/ both Sales and Service, I keep coming back because they make the time consuming process of purchasing/servicing a car easier to endure by making sure I'm comfortable and have everything I need. To me, customer service isn't holding my hand.. it's offering it.
5 stars for their service department. Brought my wife's red beetle in that had an issue. Alan Ng took care of me and service was just as good as a year ago. Nothing changed, they do what they can to help out. Hope their whole team is on par.
Had a great test drive today with Tolao. He's extremely knowledgable about VWs - you'd think that would be a given for a car salesman but more times than not we've been the one educating the salesman. My hubby is a car guy - we've owned many cars but he reads up and knows his stuff about most other cars. Tolao was able to tell him a few things he didn't already know - I think that's a first for us with car salesman. No pressure, easy going manner made for a great experience. We hope he locates the car we want (we're very particular re: color/features) because we'd love him to have our business!
Allow me to say that I foolishly avoided the VW dealership service because of really horrible treatment we received in Georgia. But the moment I walked in, Matt immediately took care of helping me. I felt that he was patient, communicative, clear, and understood our situation. He followed up repeatedly and I was incredibly impressed with the level of customer care I received. They have swayed me back!!
Had a great time here today! Worked with Tolao and a couple of his comrades. Very smart, wholesome, positive, competent bunch of people! Highly recommended. I was there all day trying various cars and they came through at every turn. Thanks, all!
When I came down, I was welcomed by all of the staff who kindly directed me to Howard who I had dealt with earlier in the day. This guy knows this business very well. I inspected the vehicle, took it for a spin, then came back to sign the papers. No games. I appreciate that
Once we had agreed on a sale price, the focus shifted to financing arrangements. We were in a relatively unusual position, being newly-arrived to the US. While we both have good credit from other countries, this doesn't count for anything in the US - which isn't the fault of the dealership, but shouldn't really be our problem either. The initial interest rate quoted was exorbitant, but the finance team (Doug DeMasi, and Dan) were very helpful. Dan listened to our situation and managed to bring the rate down. Most importantly, after they had gotten the rate to a level we accepted, Doug (I think) managed to work with the bank to bring the rate down ANOTHER 2 percentage points (bear in mind, we hadn't asked for this, and had already accepted the higher rate). In working with Doug in the finance office, we found him to be a really decent, honest, transparent guy, who explained everything in all the detail we needed, and even made it clear when he was selling something which he gets an incentive for - so we never felt he was trying to push anything on us we didn't need.
I've been wanting to get a VW since I can remember so I was very nervous about finally going through the process however when I cam to Volkswagen of Oakland they were so helpful and the customer service was very welcoming.
Overall, I'd highly recommend them, certainly the best experience we had after visiting several other dealerships on Broadway.
We were able to find the car online, and did a lot of the discussion around price before arriving at the dealership. JD was very knowledgeable about the car, and made us feel right at home. Overall, the trip to the dealership was as relaxing as it can be when one is spending that much money.
