Excellent value !. As I work around the corner, I go to Ichiro as often as I think my body can stand just a little more mercury (well, it's in EVERYTHING, NOT JUST THEIR FOOD!). I love their Dragon Rolls and almost everything else. The portions are HUGE and the prices are RIGHT. The owner works behind the sushi bar and he although he doesn't speak much English, he's extremely personable and takes great care in assembling the dishes. Nice wait staff and very clean. And although Oakland suffers from lots of violence, I still try to go out to dinner downtown to support our community. DO IT!

Pretty allright sushi....
Last night was my third time to Ichiro.
The beer and sake selection is enourmous - which is cool. The service is always very, very slow - even when the place is half full or empty. The atmosphere is not great, and feels like an old taco-bell. There isn't much room for bigger groups - and the 6 of us were squeezed together at a 4 person table against a wall last night.
The fish in the sushi is fresh, and the rolls are allright and reasonably priced - but there was crab salad in my spider roll...unexpected and something I usually try to avoid in my sushi.
All in all, ok if you're in that neighborhood and want sushi, but nothing to travel across town for.

This place is awesome!. This is the perfect lunch spot! The sushi is so fresh and delicious. Also, the owner and staff are very friendly. Great place to go after work for dinner and drinks. Nice to eat out w/out breaking the bank.

Good sushi at reasonable prices!. I love all of their sushi rolls! The servers and sushi chef are all very friendly and want you to have a good experience. The best item they have is their chirashi. You get so much fresh fish for a very small price. They could easily charge double. I always go back to Ichiro!
