Perfect ice creamery in downtown Walnut Creek.
Another Summer lunchtime for a cool treat @ Walnut Creek's Olde San Francisco Creamery last Wed...the way to roll in July 1st ;-)
LOCATION & RESTAURANT: On the corner of Locust St & Cypress Ave w/ nothing but meter parking in this general area & garage parking lot (next to restaurant) on this same corner as an option. Outdoor patio w/ no umbrellas, indoor classic creamery dive feel, upon entrance their Ice Creamery section to the immediate right (like those who just come for the ice cream to go like me *tee-hee*), & hostess station w/ fireplace on the left.
CUST SVC: The gent behind the Ice Cream parlor was just great. Friendly greet, patience, & a motivated seller. They put their ice cream of choice up front behind the glass to look, but he let me & colleague know to look @ their ice cream menu on the wall for more of their flavors. Gent also let us taste flavors too...that's always cool isn't it?!
ICE CREAM: Colleague got a Single Sundae Vanilla & I got a Single Sundae Coffee Caramel Crunch. $5.25 for a sundae is a bit steep, but they've got reeeally good ice cream w/ a variety of flavors of ice cream, syrup, & toppings. The pic might look small to you, but it'll definitely fill you up. Don't ask me how many calories this is either, my "Calorie Angel" & I had a fight b4 I walked through the doors m'kay! Looking for some really good guilty pleasure, this is the place in downtown Walnut Creek.
Final tab came to $10 bucks & some change. If this is too pricey for you to get a sundae, Mickey D's is literally around the corner on Cypress St & California Ave..u can walk/drive to get your $1 Sundae. I'm not knockin' that either...I've been a (Ronald) McDonald fan since I was 5yrs-old when grandma taught me to look for the big yellow M (LOL). If you're up for it though, treat urself to this Ice Creamery one day. I've yet to have a meal here so my rating is based just on the cool satisfaction of their ice cream *tee-hee*
yum yum!.
i've had many a lunch at this fine establishment and i always enjoy myself. everyone who works there is really friendly and attentive; i never have any trouble getting in and out in a hurry. i've tried their tofu burger, and their avocado and sun-dried tomato chicken salad sandwhich and both are scrumptious. in terms of ice cream you can't get any better. They have flavors that out-do ben & jerry's- like a vanilla bean pear sorbet...sooo good :)
fun atmosphere and good food--> five stars!
