great place for lunch, coffee, classes for kids, you name it – my kids and i always have such a great time when we are here. we feel welcome and catered to and my kids are always excited when the know we are going and they get to meet new friends
Nice Idea, too bad no one is trying to implement it – Went there for the first time today with my son toddler and my grandmother. It wasn't so horrible as to illicit my comments at the moment but I won't be going back.
The staff seemed bored yet annoyed when I asked for things like the food I had ordered or ice for a really hot coffee.
I had to go up after waiting for 15+ minutes to find out if my bagel was ready - it was ready and now cold, I didn't quite understand this since they said they'd call my order out when it was done and I was sitting right next to them.
Not many toys that are appropriate for toddler age children - 5 to be exact, I had almost as many in my diaper bag.
Lastly to no fault of the institution, management or staff I personally hate being in places where you see groups of parents standing around talking to each other and trying to ignore their children as they scream MOMMY LOOK, MOMMY, MOMMY, MOMMY!!! I know we all enjoy having an adult conversation every once in a while but I just have no need to hear you NOT paying attention to your screaming child.
Next time I'll be going to the park, where the food is premade from my fridge, there is no cost of admission and people watch their children.
I love tumble & tea cafe!
My 3 year old and I go about once a week. Great food- I always get a panini because it comes with a side of organic salad. I like their lattes too and I am picky. They have free wifi and my daughter plays in the play space while I work. Music is good- not kid music and the staff is nice. I give this place an A plus!
Don't hold a birthday party here – My son turned two recently and we had a birthday party at Tumble & Tea. I have a few critiques to offer based on the experience we had. I?ll focus on some of the things Tumble & Tea promises. 1) "A party coordinator": No such person exists. The birthday room was decorated when we got there, but no one bothered to show us where the room was. After we ate our pizza, we practically had to beg one of the three people working at the cafe that day to help us clear some of the trash that was piling up in the room. 2) "Unlimited adults": yes, it's true, as many adults as you want may attend your party, but I'd recommend keeping the number of adults to a minimum. If an adult wants a cup of water, he/she has to wait in a long line and buy bottled water at $1.25 a pop. Spending nearly $400 on the party apprently doesn't earn you the right to have a pitcher of water; we asked water on a couple of occasions and were essentially told that we couldn't have any. 3) "Balloons": One observation I've made in nearly five years of parenting is that kids like balloons. They REALLY like balloons, especially two year olds. When you see a bunch of balloons (that you've paid for) tied up in a room, you assume that your kid and his/her friends can take some of them home, right? Wrong! A Tumble & Tea owner scolded us when we tried to untie some of the balloons. She informed us that because we untied some of the balloons, she had to shut down the ceiling fans. Here's a suggestion: Tie weights onto the balloons. That way they won't get into your fans. Remember, kids like balloons.
Overall, the service was poor and the owner was rather rude. My son and his friends had a good time, however, and that was the ultimate goal. I'd suggest that the folks at Tumble & Tea provide what they promise: a real party coordinator who takes care of you, throw in some "free" water for the adults, and lastly, let the kids take the balloons home!
If you like chaos and stress ? you?ll love this place – Plus my daughter really enjoyed it but it drove me crazy. My issues with the place were...1. No organization - lacked check in and exit process (how did they know how many adults and child were in the place - fire hazard) 2. Some parents were not supervising their kids and the staff did not enforce this rule - other parents left to manage other people?s unruly children 3. Play Area - One size fits all approach versus sectioning out by age group; my daughter was constantly get bumped by older children and they had very few toys for her age group (12 ? 18 months). So sad to say...although my daughter enjoyed running around there - I will not go back. I can find safer locations for her to play that will not increase my stress level.
My daughter calls Tumble & Tea "the happy place" - what more can I say? – While most kids friendly places, such as Play Cafe feel like indoor playgrounds which also serve coffee (which is not a complaint - I'm thnkaful for htese places), T&T has more of a coffee shop vibe which also just happens to have a great kids play area. My youngest daughter and I go there almost every Friday morning to play together and also to see Buki the clown. It's become our regular weekly date to "The Happy Place".
Yes-I'm the Owner! – Hi everyone! Do you wonder if the proprieters ever read these reviews? We'd be fools not to! Yes, it can be a painful process to see where we've missed the mark but people pay thousands of dollars to get honest opinions about their businesses and this is free (minus the therapy bills that is.) I gave us 4 stars for staying open an entire year!
Gina and I are friends and moms who wanted to provide a safe and nurturing environment for families and neighborhood folks. Hipper than a kid cafe but easier for families than a regular coffeehouse. Our experience in such an endeavor was small but our passion was high, so we forged ahead. Our motto is "Take care of the parent and you'll have a happy kid". We offer fun and educational activities so that parents get a breather while their babes are occupied for a few precious moments. We are not a state funded children's museum, but each of our activity stations is designed to be a learning environment. All kids know is that they have fun and that's all they really need to know.
Since digesting all the feedback from surveys, reviews and emails, we've adjusted our menu (more kid stuff), our staff (friendlier), and even some of our policies (no big kids in play area). This place is our passion and when we do get it right and we have made someone happy, or less stressed, or just plain caffeinated we feel good. We only ask that you continue to support small businesses, moms, and entreprenuers and we thank you for keeping us afloat during our first rollercoaster of a year.
We intend to keep learning and keep adjusting so that we can continue to make tumble & tea cafe a success. If you ever want to write us directly with your comments or suggestions (which we respond to each week) please email us directly from our website listed here.
Bad customer service & food was not fully cooked – The customer service at our recent visit to Tumble and Tea was terrible. I was actually reprimanded for my toddler's normal behavior by a staff member who felt it appropriate to roll her eyes at me! I would think that a place that advertises itself as "welcoming" to toddlers and their parents would be more friendly and reasonable. I will not be returning. If I want to be judged, I need not pay $6 for the experience! What a shame that such a fantastic and original idea for a cafe isn't being executed well by its staff.
The cheese on our grilled cheese wasn't at all melted, either, but you couldn't have paid me to complain about it to this staff. I will not waste my time or money at Tumble and Tea again.
Editorial Review – This cafe provides moms with a cup of coffee and good conversation and kids with a playground to enjoy.
great food – I enjoyed the menu and the ambiance , a very cool happy place. :), I love the inovating sandwiches , totally off the hook.
