Tips for San Francisco Comprehensive Shuttle Tours

A Good Trip....... My brother and I decided to take the full-day Napa Valley Winery Tour (the 4 Winery tour with SF Bay Ferry ride) back in October, 2011.

The shuttle bus operator was friendly enough, and the Wineries were beautiful. Wish we could have spent more time at them.

The only problem was that we missed the ferry ride on the way back. I think the ferry company changed the schedule, and we just missed it. However, the company did do the right thing and gave us a partial refund.

As I said, it's a nice tour (and reasonably priced) if you're looking for an all day guided trip.

give this a miss. If you value your safety then give this a miss the drive appeared to be a little tipsy and several times he hit the curb when he was pulling over. What a nightmare! he was grumpy and kept asking for tips and this made the whole experience rather distasteful.

Wonderful Introduction to San Francisco!. Loved getting off the shuttle and experiencing the sites. This tour hits all the major spots and gave us an idea of where we wanted to go back to attend. Our tour guide knew a lot about the history of San Fran which is very interesting. Everyone was friendly and tour was easy to find. Left on time and returned on time. Great tour. Highly recommend!

You Won't Find a Better Sightseeing Tour. I read all the reviews and then went on this tour and we really like it a lot. It was more than a highlights tours. When we went to dinner that evening our local friends were surprised by how much we saw and knew about San Francisco after the tour. I think we know more than some of our local friends. Friendly service and the bottle water was a great touch. Hats off to our guide and driver.

Great Great Tour!. Just a great tour that makes lots of tour stops and has a boat cruise during the tour. Stopping in Sausalito was a highlight. These guys are experts. We didn't go on their other tours but we wish we had.

Great Great Tour!. This was excellent. Way beyond what we had expected. Having the guide be dedicated to that task was excellent. Thank you for the many stops and opportunities to leave the shuttle for exploring and picture taking. The guide was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the areas that we visited. Highlights would be Palace of Fine Arts, Golden Gate Park, and Alamo Park. Thank you for having water available. That was perfect! We have told many people about this tour. We are looking forward to our next visit to San Francisco. Just an absolutely great san francisco tour.

Fabulous Shuttle Tour!. San Francisco Shuttle Tours was just an amazing experience. They made so many tour stops and they had this great ferry cruise - we could not say anymore. We think their driver and tour guide really helped make the day special. The knowledge and performance during the tour was memorable. I would compare this to a broadway show and I don't think that is going too far. Best San Francisco Tour!

Outstanding Tour! Outstanding Tour Company!. Outstanding! Lots of great tour stops. I think we made like 10 great stops with really amazing narrative from the Tour Guide. I was happy they had a different driver from the Tour Guide. This company is all around the best from the ordering process, tour launch, tour start and end. I think it's great they use a ferry as part of their tour too. I was surprised how much we enjoyed this tour!

They also have a Wine Country Tour, called the Wine Country Tour Shuttle that people raving about that we're going on next week. I will report about this too.

Overall a good tour for those not terribly familiar with the area. We were originally booked on the Muir Woods Combo Tour, but the day before they called to cancel and offered us the five hour City Tour that was basically the same thing without Muir Woods. I suspect they cancelled Muir Woods due to not enough participants. They were very pleasant and extremely professional, and the difference in price between the two tours was immediately refunded to my credit card.

We arrived a little early for the tour, only to find out that they have you arrive intentionally early--so we had over 45 minutes to pass from the time we got to the Ferry Terminal until we actually boarded the ferry from Saulsalito. We spent it fairly easily looking around the terminal and snapping photos.

The guide was very informative, although he didn't give much of any personal perspective, it was a very "canned" tour from start to finish--not saying that's a bad thing though.

I guess if there was one complaint it was that some of the stops were too short, and a few were too long. We'd rather spend less time at the Cathedral and more time at the Golden Gate Bridge. We were also under the impression that we'd be able to walk down Lombard Street, which was not the case. Generally speaking it was a good tour that gave a good overlook of the City and allowed us to get an idea of what we'd like to go back to and explore at a later time on our own.

We'd definitely reccomend this tour for a first time visitor that wanted a quick glimpse of it all before going back to spend more time at the points that really interested them. One thing to note, the tour does require a considerable amount of walking--some uphill, up stairs, and over uneven terrain. We would not suggest this tour for mobility impaired or unhealthy people. It's also not the best for families with younger kids who will get bored and become a distraction to others.

A very good comprehensive but quick tour. I did the comprehensive San Francisco tour and the Muir woods tour combo. The tour gives you a very good quick visit to all the major sites in San Fran. I started my trip with this tour so I could figure out where I wanted to spend more time for the rest of the trip. Loved that I didn't have to figure out how to get around on the streets or park! Would recommend this tour to other visitors who would like a one day tour to see most of the main sites. The Muir woods tour was also quick, wish I had more time in the park. But the views were absolutely worth it. Again, loved not having to drive the curving, steep roads with cliffs on one side. If I had to do it again, I would take these tours, but do it on separate days.
