I Love this Place. After living in New York for the past 7 years, I'd had enough. Got a new job and moved to Oakland. Took me a few months before I caught my first show at the Uptown. ExtraActionMarchingBand! Out of control! What a great time! Ever since then, I've been back several times and always have a great time. Goth nights are cool cuz everyone dresses up. What else, great sound. This space is classy and the clientele is questionable. I love that!

Great Time in Oakland. I went to Uptown for the first time last night and had an excellent time. The music was Om Record Lable Artists, which really hit the bar's vibe home. The bar is gorgeous, and the wood dance floor is sure to be a draw for me and my friends. The staff and owner were very nice, and their service fantastic. The other patrons were friendly, and as happy to be there as we were. This is a great place to go to have a real night out in Oakland.

An elegant rock and blues bar lights up a quiet section of Oakland.. In Short
With its huge, guitar-shaped neon sign, this nightclub is hard to miss. A 30-foot mirrored mahogany bar in the main room offers up 12 drafts (including Guinness and Anchor Steam), wine and potent cocktails. Candlelit tables make for a moody, cabaret-like vibe, but framed posters of Jimi Hendrix and other classic rock figures add a pop dimension. To the left, a second room hosts a full stage and dance floor for rock, folk and honky tonk bands.
