Tips for Semo Sushi

They are so rude!. I just ate at semo sushi for my first time ever, and I didn't feel welcome. My friends were irritated because they got our friend a birthday cake and we sang and everything. Then the workers didn't want to give us any plates for the cake. I heard that the waiter told us to eat with our hands or something. I felt like good service was taken away from us just because we were all relatively young. Its like our money wasn't good enough, even though our bill was over $150. The workers were forgetful with a lot of things we ordered.

Terrible customer service, great food. The food there is great. It's the cheapest sushi around, but is still good quality. The customer service is slow and some workers are rude. I have never left this restaurant in a good mood. They are lucky they have good food. There's no such thing as a quick snack at this restaurant because even when barely anyone is there, they still manage to take 30 mins to accomodate you. It disappoints me that they still have the same workers. The service really brings this restaurant down.

The Best!. Semo Sushi has the best food! The service is slow and the restaurant is small but it is so worth it for the food! Unfortunately many people have discovered the wonderful food so it can be crowded but if you are willing to wait and arne't in a hurry to get anywhere you will be so glad you came. (As a matter of fact... why am I encouraging more people to go there? I shoudl keep this wonderful find to myself!)

For sushi lovers only..... Found this place through some of my friends in fremont. This place is like a diamond in the rough. I've been to some good japanese restaurants, but semo had some of the best fish i've ever had. The sushi chefs are very knowledgeable and the staff is extremely friendly. I almost feel like family there since they know me by name. Their kitchen food is very good and their sushi rolls are to die for. Try the Semo Spider or the Victoria's Secret. You wont be disapointed.

Thank GOD for SEMO!. I go there last friday we had to wait a little bit for a table since there was so many people waiting out the door. Once we get sat down and opened up a beautiful and extravagant menu which i have never ever seen before i never knew i was goign to be in for the best sushi ride of my life. food came out instantaneously and when i saw the food and the portions i was in awe . The presentation was beautiful , the fish tasted like it came out of the sea and service was GREAT.All i can say is THANK GOD for SEMO now i dont have to drive all the way to the city to get some decent fish. i would also like to say that the sushi chefs were damn good eye candy for me and my friends.

Go there and experience the fun.

Great spot. My friends and I split three rolls and a nigiri plate. The Michael Roll was outstanding; a spicy roll was terrific, and the dragon roll was nice, but not too special. The fish itself was all nice and fresh. Service was okay until we got the food, then the waiter never checked back on us. Nice decor somewhat spoiled by the sound and vision of THE LAST SAMURAI playing. What the heck?

Several white boards and pages and pages of rolls to choose from, if that's your bent; if you want to order nigiri individually, you need to know what you want, because there's no menu for that.

Prices are a tiny bit too high, but that's cool. I'll go back until introduced to better sushi in the area.

Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. Wow.We stopped by while driving from SoCal to Canada through several referrals. It was definitely worth the detour, delaying us a few hours.Right when we walked in,we felt like royalty and memories of Japan hit me,where I grew up.Strangely,I don't even like sushi that much, but I was stuffing my face with sashimi, rolls, and anything else that looked great on other tables. My friend(who's had the best sushi in LA/NY/Japan/Korea)is a food critic for a major magazine and could not say enough about the quality+presentation. He only gave it 5 out of 5 stars, and I thought that that was still too low. Our host (Sam or Steve? can't remember)was very courteous, even though he wears earrings and has spiky hair(I was teasing him about that). His humor added to the great vibe that Semo already had.One downside to Semo is that there is only one! Please open one in SoCal.

Give me SEMOre of that sushi. "WOW". I never take the time to post anything on user review websites, but the Sushi at Semo was far beyond anything I've had before. My wife and I thought we knew what good sushi was.

The fish itself is the freshest I have ever tasted. It was melt in your mouth, moist, and delicious. What really sets Semo apart from the rest is not only the freshest fish but the unique mixture of traditional and new age menu items. Yes you can find all of your boring California, spicey tuna and spider rolls, but the real blessing is the unusual. The names themselves demand that your attention. Dishes such as Victoria's Secret, Sex in the City, and to many others to mention, will intrigue you with the name, entice you with the descrption, and fullfill your every sushi desire when consumed.

Ya....think I need a cigarette now too...
