dishonest business practices

Earlier this Spring, I purchased $120 worth of message & spa services for my boyfriend at Zen Springs. However, my boyfriend who works in ER could not make his appointment due to his erratic schedule so he called owner (his name is Kalvin). That day Kalvin gave him a confirmation # and said that he could use his message/spa at any time in the future. Fast forward few months, my boyfriend calls to schedule an appointment and this is what he was told: The owner first claimed that there was no record of the purchase. And once we provided credit card statement, his story changed. This time he claimed that he does in fact remember the purchase but that m boyfriend didn't show up for his appointment, which is untrue. Long story short, we paid $120 for a service that was never delivered. On several occasions, the owner promised to double check his books and get back to us, but we have yet to hear from anyone at Zen Springs. Needless to say, I would not recommend this place to anyone for obvious reasons.

Spa only for now

The Spa is clean and well maintained. Friendly staff and good service overall. The massage, however, is average at best. It appears that they do not have some of the better trained massage therapists to match their very nice spa facilities. Use the spa and skip the massage for now.

Nirvana in Downtown Oakland

Ok. Let me just say, simply, that this place is great! Totally unexpected gem in the middle of Oakland. Really well-made rooms - very clean and stylish. Their website is a really accurate representation of the rooms, though the rooms are actually much larger than they appear. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My boyfriend and I will most definitely be back!
