NOT coming back!. So it was last week when I went to this place. Sure, it looks all pretty, BUT the service is not. I was greeted and was told to sit and wait for my appt. Yes, I had the same experience as the lady below me. I had an appt. with Linda (the owner). She was with another client (consulting?), anyway, I waited over 15 minutes while she finished up. How much does she care about great/excellent customer svc? I think not much. Anyway, I got tired of waiting. After all, an appt. is to save time of waiting. So anyway, I got my hair cut, but I guess she was in a rush and did not listen to what I wanted. She cut however she wanted and I was displeased. I just told her to stop and paid and left. I heard her staff speak in Vietnamese too; they may have said something about me. I got an unfriendly feeling from them. Will not come back or reccomend to anyone.

I forgot to mention that one should look on yahoo local reviews, too. It will be helpful in determining where to go and what places are not worth the time.

Worse place to have an appointment. I was on time for my first appointment with Linda Pham. She was working on another client when I arrived. Why bother with appointment. She finally got to me 20 minutes later. She cut my hair unevenly and promised to fix it after my manicure/pedicure. She kept me sitting with my wet hair and went to chat with another client. After 30 minutes, I left without manicure/pedicure, hair fixed.

No a place for me. By the way, Linda Pham is the owner of the Salon.

La Princesse has it all - does it all!. I'm a fairly new customer to this establishment (May 2007), but I have already received several of their services: brow shaping (tweezing), lip wax, bikini wax, makeup application for special occasion, lash extensions, and Brazilian wax. I've been happy and satisfied with all of the services mentioned. Both Linda and Jenny are friendly, professional and thorough -- I don't feel like I'm being rushed in my treatments nor are products forced upon me. I'm looking forward to trying more of their services which range from hair to nails to face and body. Take a look at their website and you'll see for yourself the wide range of services to choose from. I'm glad I came across La Princesse and I will (and have) recommend them to friends and family!

Worth the trip to Alameda. I have been going to La Princesse for almost 2 years now. I enjoyed the convenience of a fantastic salon when I lived in Alameda and still make the trek even after moving to the Oakland Hills. Linda worked wonders for my hair and introduced me to waxing. Everyone is so professional and truly seem to love what they do. Prices are high but reasonable for an upscale salon and surely worth it. Try them out and you'll find your perfect salon.

Highly Recommended!. I have been a client of John for several years. He is the only hairstylist I can trust to cut my hair. Even though it is a long way for me to travel to Alameda for my hair appointment, it is well worthy. (I went to other salons after John left his previous one. It was a disater and my hair was a mess.)

Additionally, John never use any pressure to sell you anything and is always eager to help with your request.

Highly recommend him and the salon.

Best hair-cut in Alameda. La Princesse in Alameda is the place to go for a good hair-cut. I always request Linda Pham. She does an excellent job and is very personable. Linda has been cutting my hair since 1998 and I always request her. I have not used the other services at La Princesse, but I get a consistently good hair-cut each time. The staff is friendly, the interior is bright and parking is easy to find. Accept no substitutes - ask for Linda Pham!

Need an excellent Manicurist?. Then Jenny Thuong Tran at La Princesse is the one to see, Jenny is amazing, everywhere else I have been the pepole end up burning me, I have very thin nails and they are very sensitive, but with Jenny, I rearly feel anything, she is the best maincurist I have ever been to, and believe me I've been to a lot!

Great Brazilian Wax; ask for Jenny Thuong Tran. If you've ever thought about getting a Brazilian Wax but have been too afraid, I recommend you have it at La Princesse Spa with Jenny Thuong Tran. I was apprehensive about getting one at first. But now I have one on a regular basis. It is a little painful but very worth it. Jenny makes you feel very comfortable, is thorough and professional. I had no bumps or in grown hairs afterwards. When the hair grows back it is more fine and soft, not coarse. I would recommend Jenny for any service, she is great! My boyfriend really liked her work too!!

Great Service, very thorough and accommodating.. The staff was very friendly, professional and thorough with my beauty treatments. Jen was excellent with all the services she performed for me. I would definitely recommend this place to my family and friends. You might pay just a bit more, but it's totally worth it for the service you receive. The shop is well-kept, clean and classy. Treat yourself like I did. You'll love it!!

Simply the BEST. I love this place. I've had manicures, pedicures, hair cut and style, waxing, facials--and I can't remember what else--at this salon. The services are fabulous. The staff are friendly and talented. In particular, I've gotten the best waxing I've ever had here (and I've been getting my legs waxed for 15 years, so I've experienced more than a few salons). I brought my mother and sister in; they were very impressed. Did I mention that I love this place?
