La Kasbah

Contemporary Morrocan furniture and unique accessories.

  • Variety of furniture
  • Huge inventory
  • Limited edition products

During extended travel throughout Morocco, Marianne Antic Tyrrell and her husband, James Tyrrell, were constantly amazed by the quality and variety of furnishings available there. Upon returning home to San Francisco, they looked for similar items for their home, only to discover that none were available. They knew there would be a strong market for traditional Arabic art, as well as for contemporary Moroccan design; so they decided to import it themselves. In 2004 they opened their first retail outlet, La Kasbah, on the waterfront in San Francisco.

Moroccan design is a vital part of the Mediterranean trend in home furnishings and integrates perfectly with California living. Whether you're looking for one piece to give your interior a Mediterranean touch, or whether you want the total Moorish look, La Kasbah will work with you to help you find the perfect ensemble.

Editorial Review for La Kasbah – by Joanna Currier

In Short
Rich golds, violets and deep russets pattern many of the contemporary furnishings at this tasteful French-Moroccan outpost. Exotic wares include handmade cushions, rugs, artwork, ceramics and delicately etched glassware. Larger pieces include sleek, sculpted dining tables in polished walnut, wrought iron accent tables, and cedar chests and armoires decorated in stunning inlays and carvings. Unusual lamps and fixtures and a smattering of bags, jewelry and slippers complete the collection.

Avoid the top to bottom Pottery Barn C&B look and go to La Kasbah! Great opportunity to throw some unique pieces into the mix. Tables, console, lamps, paintings...lots of great stuff. I thought prices were in line with what you're getting - not inexpensive, but by no means designer. Acessories are very well priced if you just need some small decorating touches. Support your local stores and enjoy free delivery!

Pros: unique selection

This shop has tons of unique items at a reasonable cost. If you've travelled abroad and passed on buying while there, you can find something better here. Very cool iron worked furniture, nice wood worked furniture, funky lamps, and outstanding handpainted glass work.

Pros: uniqueness, price
