Located by the U.C. Berkeley campus, this six-block long stretch hosts eclectic shops and restaurants. Booths sell tie-dyed shirts and stickers emblazoned with protest messages, as well as handmade pottery and jewerly. Music stores like Amoeba Music and Rasputin Music are popular, as are vintage clothing stores like Mars Mercantile. Expressionists get tattooed or pierced at Zebra, while the more intellectual set holes up at Moe's Books. At night, the bar Blakes heats up with live bands.
