Editorial Review for I Preferiti di Boriana – by Kim Cooper
In Short
The name means "Boriana's favorites," and every item in this bright, cheery shop has been handpicked by owner Boriana Stoivola from the traditional products of Montepulciano, Italy. The artisanal products include dense Panpepato cake, celebrating the harvest's end in a riot of nuts, honey and spices, 100-percent fruit preserves, dry pastas, olive oils, wood-fire-roasted coffee, hand-made copper cookware and buttery-soft leather items.

a clarification from the expert: Pecorino di Pienza is a sheep's milk cheese from the Region of Tuscany made by Sardinian people who moved up north from their island due to weather severity and part of that migration group stoped in Rome(Pecorino Romano) and another group went further north to Pienza(Siena) where they started producing Pecorino di Pienza. There is no such thing as "Montepulciano Cheese". Boriana Foods imports every single product directly from the Tuscan farmers and as a matter of fact Cow Girl Creamary has occasionally bought (Pecorino di Pienza specifically from the Cugusi Family) from Boriana, and NOT the other way around. grazie per l'attenzione boriana

How do they pay the rent? This store has very little in it and nothing looks appetizing. Their new thing is an Italian doughnut called Bombolone with various fillings, which I adore. But sometimes braving their snootiness is not worth it. There's one clerk in particular who always has to slowly finish whatever stupid thing she's doing before she "lets" me pay, ugh.
Pros: bombolone
Cons: very little variety, few opportunities to taste products
