Editorial Review for Ristorante Amoroma – by Tara Fatemi
In Short
Copper sconces gently light the spacious dining area, decorated with lighthearted illustrations from a cookbook by co-owner Michele Lavecchia's father, a Rome restaurateur. Families and couples sit inside at cherrywood tables or out on the heated garden patio. Pasta selections include chewy, homemade gnocchi topped with rich Bolognese sauce and veal cannelloni stuffed with ricotta and leeks. Or try a meat dish like the slow-cooked lamb shank, spiked with oregano, spicy cardamom and sweet port.

This is Moraga's hidden gem! We've enjoyed several special dinners at Amoroma, and the service has been friendly and attentive. If you live in the area, Amoroma is the perfect alternative to driving into Berkeley or San Francisco - excellent Italian food and ambience.
Pros: Great food and wine selections
Cons: Can't think of any!

Just had a very unimpressive lunch there (party of 4). The bread was at least a day old, the oil had a very bitter taste (when we brought it up, we were informed by the waiter that it was "just the balsamico" at the bottom. After all four of us all told him that we all thought the oil had a bitter taste, he finally replaced it. The minestrone was lukewarm, and the waiter was inattentive (not once did he ask to refill coffee, and generally was absent). My second and probably last experience at this place. My friends had come from Davis specifically to eat there since my first experience some Friday night a few weeks ago was very nice. They left disappointed.
