I must have shopped at a different store than Paul, because first, the RKASSMAn I visited was in Berkeley and not San Franicsco. I found their sales staff to be the most professional and knowledgable of ANY I have ever visited in my 50 years as a piano player. I bought I WONDERFUl hand made German piano from them, and I was astounded at the variety and selection that they had, and how carefully they treat and prepare every piano. So many stores I have visited, especially in San Franicsco and Oakland, have ffilthy pianos even though they are "new" and evey piano I played at Kassman was pristine, well tuned, and performed perfectly. it is true that the two sales people I encountered were very protective of their products. They did not allow somwone with a drink to go near the pianos, and that is certainly understandable. I was so comfortable handing over my $60,000 to this company knowing that they really cared about each and every instrument, and that I was getting more than I paid for. I can't recommend them highly enough. In this day of mediocrity in retail, R. KASSMAN stands out as a shining example of what a quality retailer should be.
Pros: Vast selection, knowledgeable staff, pristine products
Cons: Hard to choose one from so many good instruments.
