Good Quick Sushi Lunch. Came here with a group of co-workers for lunch. I went for the freshly cut spicy tuna roll and miso soup, while others went next door to the mexican restaurant. We joined together outside to eat along the water which was absolutely beautiful on this not-so-cold day in San Francisco. The spicy tuna roll was great, a little too big, but still tasty. The miso soup was the perfect way to keep warm. It's a great quick lunch spot, but probably wouldn't come back if I'm looking for a relaxing sushi spot with a big variety of rolls.

Nice Japanese take out food. There are approx 4 seats by the window but you can take the food outside to eat and watch the ferry boats arrive and depart. The salmon and sesame genmai rice ball had tender, soft grains of rice interspersed with bits of smoked salmon. The combination sushi rolls were clearly different from traditional sushi rolls. The inside is full of lettuce rolled up with thin slices of salmon then wrapped with rice paper (similiar to Vietnamese cold rice rolls) , topped off with a bottle of jasmine iced tea, makes for a very nice lunch. The curry beef was tasty and had a lighter flavor than Indian or Chinese curry dishes.

Great healthy Japanese food!. I love their food!

I've never got tired of their food. I love Hijiki (type of seaweed) salad, Shrimp croquette, Gobo roots salad, Curry, Tofu, and more.

It is like a Spanish tapas. You try a little bit of evrhing and find out what you like.

Healthy Japanese food. If you want healthy Japanese food, then you must try this place! It offers bento boxes and very creative salads and crab cakes. They also serve a very traditional Japanese style curry, which usually is lighter and has a hint of apple flavor in it. Also their dessert custard is yummy as well.

Yum!. I love this place although I don't go very often. I like to go for lunch and pick up a few little treats. I love their crab croquettes!

It's sort of pricey when you load up on ala carte items, but I like a little taste of everything! Plus you can sit there and people watch.

a tasty, healthy, clean, and well-balanced meal. My wife and I visit Delica frequently (at least once a week). After our yoga class on Saturday mornings, we reward ourselves with a meal from Delica. We are quite careful with what we put in our bodies and since they get their ingredients daily from the markets at the Ferry building, we feel good about eating there. Not only that, the food is DELICIOUS. We categorize their offering as "nouveau Japanese". The chicken dumplings (gound chicken and organic tofu) is to die for. The organic soups are not only good for you, but very fresh and tasty. We recommend you compliment your meal with a variety of innovative salads. Or get a bento box which has a sampling of their offering. And it won't cost you an arm and a leg!!! I sound like a Delica commercial.......

Umami Sold Here!. There is a certain Art and Balance to Japanese cuisine, and I didn't know how a "Deli" concept would work-- but it does. Because the crab, shrimp and scallop dumplings are dipped in panko breadcrumbs it is more delicate and lasts longer as a fried item then, say, jalapeno poppers or french fries. The shrimp cake is enormous and fresh-tasting even a simple thing like tofu, hijiki chicken patty is subtlely delicious. All of the dishes have their own flavour and need little extra seasoning although tartar sauce is excellent. You can count on freshness, clean palette of flavours, panko textures and extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff here. Check out extended summer hours on Thursday nights until 8pm!

A sleek Japanese delicatessen brings handsomely prepared to-go fare to the Ferry Plaza.. The Scene
The hip East Asian chain imported its minimalist sensibilities to San Francisco's foodie mecca. The clean, modern space features a large exhibition kitchen and expansive glass display cases showcasing heaping platters of salads and snacks. Friendly counter people cater to a lunchtime crowd. Seating is limited to one long table and a few chairs against the bay window.

The Food
The streamlined menu of salads and lightly fried snacks based on local, seasonal ingredients are prepared in the Japanese tradition of sozai, or a meal made up of many different small items. A wonderfully textured salad of chewy hijiki (black seaweed), julienned fried tofu and plump soybeans flecked with spicy mizuna is refreshing, while nutty, creamy sesame dressing plays nicely against the crisp earthiness of green bean and carrot salad. Fried dishes are coated in delicate, nearly perfect panko crust, such as onion-flecked potato croquettes and juicy, tender sea scallops.
