I like the owner's friendliness but I really thin the food is way too over priced. Also the tortilla chips are too thick for me. You're lucky if you find a free parking space.

Discovered this place shortly after moving to Oakland and have come back at least once a month ever since. I always look forward to the tortilla soup (way better than the salad, comes with every entree). They have a delicious smoky salsa that they give with the chips that is unlike anything I've had elsewhere and it's super good. My husband also puts it on practically everything he orders. They make a very tasy chicken enchilada. The food always hits the spot for me. It's definitely not fancy food or a fancy place, but it's super mellow and the waiters are always attentive. It's like eating in someone's house, since it's in an old house and we always see the same waiters.

My girlfriend and I visit Senor Nero's about once a month. The place always has seating. The food is great and the margaritas are the best in the east bay. They actually give you the left overs if they make too much!! Great price, great food and above all great service.
