Editorial Review for Poggio – by Roxanne Webber

In Short
Bucolic charm permeates this gorgeous property, which comes complete with its own certified-organic vegetable garden and a rustic wood patio. Executive Chef Peter McNee's authentic brand of northern-Italian cuisine translates into dishes rarely found stateside, such as homemade burrata served with gypsy peppers, sun-dried tomato purea and grilled pagnotta, and a hand-cut pasta dish featuring rare ovoli mushrooms.

Recently (9/20), I gave this restaurant a try. My bill came out to be $45.41 and I gave $52.00 for the total. I look at my credit card statement today and found out that, they change the amount to $52.41. It's not the $0.41 that I care about but it's more of what they should and shouldn't do. I'm quite angry with this restaurant for doing that. Their food is OK, not like it's really good. I would never come back to this place again.

Pros: OK Food

Cons: Expensive and charge you more than what you really put on your cedit card receipts

A few friends and I dined here for lunch a few days ago. Overall we were very impressed. A friend and I each had the gnocchi with pesto while our other friend had pizza. The food was delicious and the service was very good. I highly recommend trying the desserts!! They were delicious! We decided to get three of them and share. The white peach sherbert was outstanding, the blackberry sorbet was out of this world, and the vanilla ice cream with espresso was incredible! The only turnoffs of the restaurant was the abundance of fruit flies that seemed to stick around in the restaurant, (we had to walk through a hoard of them to get in, and were swatting them away during our meal...not acceptable at a nice restaurant) and the hostess at the door. (She was staring off into space when we entered.) The wine list was decent, and their recommendations were right on. I would recommend putting up a screen between the diners inside and outside the establishment..then it would be perfect!

Pros: The food and the MUST HAVE desserts!!

Cons: Really bad fruit fly problem while dining, and the hostess who did not notice we walked in.
