El Chalan. I ordered the Vanita Saltada con Camarones, (Green Beans sauteed with shrimps, garlis, onions, tomatoes, bell peppers). Really good! Mu husband ordered the Parihuela, (Fish and shellfish soup in a rich seafood tomato broth with side of toasted corn). He orders this every time we go and loves it! We both left very satisfied!

slow service, bad food. We went on a Tuesday night and there were only two other sets of diners. The service was really slow, especially to get water and the check. We even asked a couple of times for the check. I ended up asking at the register and then had to take the bill back there. The food was bland and over cooked. I ordered the carapulcra which had about 5 or 6 pieces of pork about the size of medum sized strawberries. Two people in my group ordered the saltado, one beef, one chicken. In both cases, the meat was totally over cooked to the point where it was dried and tough. I thought the food was on the expensive side (most dishes were around $12) considering it was mostly potatoes and rice, very little meat or veggies.

I definitely do not recommend this restaurant.

Waiting forever for the check. The food is OK, but if you don't want to wait 30 minutes for them to pick up the check, and another 30 minutes to bring it back, then this is not a place for you. The owners loved to talk to their friends and don't care who is in the restaurant.

The first time I ate in this restaurant, I saw a couple arrived, and were given a menu. I was served already, but the couple waited and waited, and finally gave up and left. The same problem: They were having a nice conversation with friends about life.

Then it was my turn. I went there 5 times, and got tired of waiting for the check. Even if you ask them, still won't come for a long while. That is just how they are. Too bad, and I am not going back there ever.

great seafood entrees. A small, hole-in-the-wall place with fabulous food. A pleasant surprise find. A unique menu of Italian and Peruvian foods. They have a great roast chicken with unique & delicious seasoning, a great, slightly spicey shrimp chowder, a crab ravioli with an almost too rich saffron sauce. The purple corn juice was popular with my kids and the adults alike, with a hint of cloves. My favorite, however, is the trout with capers and white wine sauce which is a flavorful delight.

The ambiance is null and the services is only fair, but the food is well worth it.
