Berkeley >Hua Hin Thai Restaurant & Grill
THIS PLACE IS GONE.
I was thrilled to read the rave reviews for this restaurant and was looking forward to some great Thai food. I'm still looking...this place is now a smokehouse. You can still see the word "Thai" peeking out from under the new sign.
My FAVORITE Thai restaurant!!.
Thai food is absolutely my favorite type of food. I have been to many many Thai food restaurants and Hua Hin is hands down my favorite!!
I recommend the chicken satay, yellow curry, cashew chicken, everything is good, you really can't go wrong. Those are just a few of my favorite dishes.
Best Thai Restaurant in Berkeley!!. I have been to many thai restaurants in berkeley but this place is the best in terms of service, value and food quality. It attracts both the college crowd and the professionals. I think of it superior to thai house or most other thai places.... Try the spring roll appetizer, or the eggplant with chicken stir fry yumm, or the cashew nut chicken or the grilled pork. I'd have to say that the curries may not be the best but everything else on the menu is veryy good. The food is well balanced and they use very high quality ingredients in their dishes which gives it a lot of wonderful flavors. I have been going to this place for the past 3 years.... Definitely don't miss this one out!!
A Worthy Thai Place. When this establishment sprang up into existence, I had my doubts whether Berkeley needed a gazillionth Thai restaurant. Needless to say, the doubts were dispelled. Their meats seem fresher, their stir-fry has a little more umph than others, and their pork fried rice "hits the spot," and their sauces don't taste like the typical "mixture-of-everything but mostly soy." I have yet to try the skewered dishes but their meats seem juicy and plump.
Best Thai FOOD EVER!!. This is one of the best places I have ever had Thai food in Berkeley- I have tried Thai house, Cha-am, Tak Tak, plearn, thai basil. But nothing compares to this place- the food is excellent and very deserving portions. The service is very prompt and the ambience is spectacular and clean. The lunch menu is such a bargain- starts at $5.50 and you get soup, entree with rice, and the portions are so generous :o) If you go try the bbq pork/chicken or sauteed chicken with eggplant or chicken basil and the fried banana+coconut ice cream- so much flavor and equal amounts of veggies and protein- not like other places where they serve you just a whole bunch of sauteed onions and 3-4 pcs of chicken and a few vegetables here and there. If you love thai food you should definitely give this place a try!
