Without a doubt, Child's Play has a great selection of clothes and toys. But it's the staff here that really makes the store special. I started coming here when my first born was one. I made friends with the owner, Dawn Hall, and Lillian the manager because they were always ready with warm hearts and open ears. They see so many tired moms coming in and have such good advice about all the new baby things that moms deal with. Lillian, who is from Africa, adds excellent cross-cultural insights to the mix. She tells me that when she goes back to Africa, she tells all the moms how lucky they are that they don't live here. She is blown away by our hyped-up, over-the-top American-style mommying, both impressed by us and worred about us. I love hearing her descriptions of mothering in Africa, of all the similarities and differences. Definitely stop by here if you're anywhere near the vicinity, for the great stuff, and for the experience.
