A salon that listens to what their customers want..
My husband has hard hair to cut. He has a full head of hair and if it isn't cut right, he ends up looking like a Q-tip during the grow-out phase. My husband is also pretty conservative and many stylists try and push a trendy cut on him, which isn't what he wants.
My husband went in, explained to Camille what he was looking for and ended up with a stylish cut that didn't push him past his comfort zone.
Greatest salon I have ventured into in a long time.. I ran across this salon on a stroll one afternoon on my lunch hour. The staff was very professional and eager to please me. Cynthia, the owner, was extremely outgoing and accomodated me in scheduling my appointment at my convenience. The remainder of the staff members were shooting out some of the most awesome colors and cuts that I have seen. Props to this salon, they will be seeing me for many more years.
Best salon in East Bay. I've never been to a high-end salon where the customer service has been so friendly. Great receptionist! (and he's cute too!). Phoenix Rising is a relaxed, spirited environment and there was great style after great style leaving each chair. Cynthia the owner, gave me exactly what I wanted, (new color) and my freind received one of the best massages ever from Kim. Michelle gives a fantastic facial (her room is very relaxing and calming) WHAT A GREAT TEAM!!!
Real people who "get" hair. Friendly and relaxing atmosphere. Hairstlists who understand how to keep hair healthy while making you look gorgeous. Shampooing is actually a lovely head massage.
Fantastic hair and great people. All I know is that I went in hating my hair (really hating) and came out loving it. Cynthia totally understood my rantings about my hair and worked her magic. I'm growing it out and wanted new color and she seemed to read my mind. And I felt really comfortable there immediately - no attitude or snobbery, just really nice and talented people.
Not the best place for perms.... Despite friendly service, I had a disappointing experience at Phoenix Rising. I requested a "body wave," and I left with a head full of tight spiral curls. It felt like a "one-size-fits-all" approach to perming -- the stylist used (very small) spiral rods, despite the fact that I'd wanted a "wavy" look. I told her I was surprised by how curly it was, and she said that the curls would loosen and my long hair should weigh them down. It's been over a month and the curls still haven't dropped. I paid well over $100, and I'm still frustrated by the results. I didn't call to complain because I don't ever plan to go back. For now, I'm just waiting for my hair to grow out. Cute place, but I was disappointed.
Great Salon!. I found this salon from a redken website having relocated from a redken salon out of state. I had my hair done by Alicia. Not only does she happen to work for Redken as an instructor, she colored and cut my hair just how I wanted it! I get tons of compliments! She is efficient and coming from back east....a value! I priced other salons in the area and they come in about average to just under "average" on some services. The staff members were all so very nice and helpful! I would highly recommend this salon and Alicia!
GET IN HERE!!. 6.9??? I don't think so. I have been going to see Alicia since I moved to CA in '92. This is BY FAR the most welcoming, friendly and professional salon we've been to. Treats for our daughter and for our dog - nice touch. The best thing is that from the time we walk in the door, until we leave, we are treated like family.
