Awesome Experience. saw this artist nino featured on eye on the bay tv show which made me try out this shop. initially i was reluctant to get inked, but he was patient and at the same time funny during the whole experience--he made it easy for me! he did a cover up of a name with flowers and he did a good job! now i'm thinking of getting my back done! i would highly recommend him to my friendz!

i love dom. i love dominic sooooooo much. he has been me and my families artist for the past 6 yrs and i would never let ne one do my tats but him. ive heard great things about charlette as well. his new shop is also amazing as well.

Great artists overall. Dominique and Charlotte are great artists. Ive got tattoos done by both of them. The price is uncomparable to anywhere else and they have become my tattoo parlor of choice. Ive gone there for three tattoos so far and will be there again tomorrow to finish my hald-sleeve. They have become so popular that they often dont have time shuffle everyone around.

Because of the volume of clients that they have, they really should have a receptionist so that he isnt pulled away from his work to answer the constant phone calls. I hate when he has to stop to either help out a customer or answer a phone. Lastly, to be fair to everyone. I had an appointment set up 3 weeks out to get a tattoo done by him. I went into the shop 3 times to show him what i wanted. Instead of him drawing up a sketch and working with my design, he told me to just come back bc he was busy working on a tattoo. I came back, ( a total of 3 times) and the same thing happened. When it came time for my tattoo, i was there early. He ran over his prior appt by an hour. By the time he was ready, he was really short and frustrated and blamed me for not having an exact draw up of the tattoo that i had came in previously to discuss with him. To make the long story short, the few tweaks that i wanted him to do before he started the tattoo made him say that he didnt have enough time to start my tattoo bc he was running behind..

Was that my fault???????????? u guys be the judge after the 3wks that i gave him to prepare

I will continue to still go to dragons layer, bc they are great artists. I just wish they had more artists to accomodate the evergrowing demand! i hear they are expanding soon.

Great artists and great people. I really enjoyed getting a tattoo at Dragon's Lair. I got my tattoo from Charlotte and she was truly skilled and a nice person. I went in my first time and set up a series of consultations in order for her and I to design my tattoo. I would recommend taking this route and taking time to design your tattoo so that she can do something really special and original. If you let her take her time and do something out of the usual cliche tattoos she will put alot of work into it and truly enjoy it. Every time I went in during the design process she made me seem like I was her friend and was excited about my tattoo. Also talking to her during the tattoo is really nice and helps take your mind off of the pain. By far the best price in Oakland and the best artists. Just know that Dominick is not the only great artist but so is Charlotte, so ask for her and take your time getting a beautiful piece of art. Thank you Charlotte! I hope that you get the chance to go to Japan and tattoo soon.

BEST TATTOO ARTIST IN OAKLAND!!! BY FAR!. Known Dom for years...referred quite a few people to him....he is a true artist! if you are looking for something you can't pick off a wall and throw it on your body and call it art....then he's yer man! He'll keep you intertained with his raw sense of humor, professional, CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN....and close to 30 yrs experience! Check him out, he never disappoints!

And the last post is right...HE HATES COVER UPS!!! LOL!

dominick <--- he goes. Dominick is great not only does he do excellent work he is funny too, i love tats but i still get scarred, and his humor made time fly... his prices are good, he is down to earth and a pure artist?. Also if ur new to tats he is the person to see he wont do work that not right for you, he is not in the habit of takin peoples money?
