Best Carne Asada. I Love this restaurant! The burittos are big and affordable, and the food is fresh and tasty. This is by far the best place for a burrito in Berkeley (in fact, anywhere I've ever tried). The carne asada is to die for, although it can vary from "great" to "oh my wow this is amazing". So, if you didn't like it once, go back and try again.

Authentic Mexican Food. I've never bothered to write a review on CitySearch, but when I saw my favorite mexican restaurant had no reviews, action must be taken. Personally, I liek my mexican food fresh. I find most mexican restaurants to be heavy on the beans and the frying. Not Monte Cristo. Its all fresh, the flavors burst out of everything and they have great salsa too! It's a small joint and ther eare few tables, but I've never ever had to wait and the prices are fantastic. My wife and I only go here when Mexican food is what we are craving. Its the best in the bay, hands down.
