My girlfriend and I left feeling like we satisfied....
I would go back. It's very handy that they are open on Sundays. Previous reviews speak of bad service. This was not an issue for us. The staff was very attentive and friendly. There is no atmosphere to speak of the place was clean but except for the sushi bar, pretty much devoid of decoration. That being said you get a good amount of food for your dollar.
The bottom line...
I have had much better as well as MUCH worse. Overall the food was pretty good and we left over full for $30.00
Great sushi in hayward....Believe it or not!. Service is...well...the kids are young...but the food is very good! You must visit and try their house roll specialty they call' communication breakdown' and the seafood Udon! Quick service and plenty of parking.
have 45 minutes to waste?. With only 3 people at the Sushi Bar at 7:00pm and 6 people in the main dining room, I placed my order at 7:11 only to receive it 45 minutes later! Not only was the hostess who took my order rude, she never once felt it necessary to apologize for the absurd amount of time it took. A random waiter apologized and said it would just be a few more minutes at the 20 minute mark, then 30 then 40 minutes. My request for something to be comped fell on deaf ears and after many inquiries to the hostess, she finally responded "this is how long it takes" and still no aplogy when I flat out told her not to blame me for their incompetence. Unless you have 45 minutes to waste for mediocre sushi, don't bother. I could have driven to Ebisu, had my order filled and gotten back to Pacific Heights in the time it took.
Great and fresh.
I ordered the sea bass and it is really really really fresh. It melts in your mouth. Good portions on sushi, too! Only con is no free japanese tea and the female server is not as enthusiastic as her other co-workers. Who knows why and who cares?!? Their food is great and fresh! That's all that matters.
To give you an idea of how big this place is -- it can hold up to 43 people.
Good Sushi. The sushi is really fresh and good here. They have new sushi combinations. I like the fish dinners too (it's grilled and comes sizzling with veggies). I don't care too much for the tempura (don't like the batter they use) but otherwise everything is pretty good. Service is always good too.
Good sushi. My favorite sushi place. I both order in and order out from this place. It is quite busy on Friday nights and probably Saturday nights too. The restaurant is somewhat small, and has a clean, modern look. The menu is not that long, but the sushi is fresh, and the service is good. Their Sushi Combo comes with 6 pieces of Nigiri sushi (tuna, salmon, albacore, shrimp, fish egg), 6 California rolls, Miso soup, and salad - $9.95.
