Sorry, But This Place Serves Awful Mexican Food....
Location: Downtown Pleasanton, next door to Redcoats British Pub.
Ambiance: Nice "typical" Mexican restaurant decor with murals on the walls, comfy booth seating.
Service: Good...but we were the only ones in the restaurant!
Chips & Salsa: Chips were served cold, but the salsa was tasty.
Chicken Tortilla Soup: DH liked it, but it was a little on the salty side for me.
Chicken Chimichanga: I just had one bite of it, but it was better than my dish...which isn't saying much.
Chicken Enchilada Suiza: Everything was cold, so the dish wasn't off to a good start. I ate the enchilada and the beans, but the rice was old and hard...ugh.
If Fernando's was located in Hawaii, it would be on par with the Mexican restaurants they have there...which aren't very good at all. With so many great Mexican restaurants in California, I don't have any reason to return to Fernando's.

Poor service.
Restaurant was half ful on Saturday evening with one big party. We waited over 30 minutes post soup for our main course. Service was painfully slow

Horrible experience.
I was so upset with my experience and I could not wait to warn other people, especially if you plan to use the restaurant com certificate. They refused to honor my certificate because I did not meet their "silence" minimum purchase and number of meals requirement. I showed them that there was no requirements listed on the certificate and they said that it's their discretion to honor the certificate or not. Eventually, I gave up and ordered what they told me. But my family was treated as thieves during the whole meals. There was one manger kept referring our table as "people who tried to get the cheap meals". The restaurant was empty at noon time of Sunday. Even though there was no customer, there was no one to attend our table. I don't know whether I may make the chef upset as well. The food was overly salty and dried. With the amount and taste of food, it was overly pricey. Experience got worse especially when no one refilled your water and their food was so salty. My husband and I could not even finish half of the small burrito. I will definitely not recommend this restaurant to anyone unless you just want salt and dried meat for your meal.

Good Salsa, Crappy Margaritas.
Went their with wife on Thursday night. Not busy, seated promptly. Chips and salsa were very good, chips nice and hot, salsa was chunky, spicy and very good.
Carne Asada plate on special was big enough for two people. Nachos appetizer was meal in itself.
Margaritas just plain sucked.
Wife thought the service was lacking, but I did not see anything in particular to comment on.
