Sweet tooths line up for ice cream concoctions made on a granite slab. – In Short
Crowds of couples, teenagers and parents with toddlers press up against the long refrigerated display case at this dessert chain, where a variety of ice creams, frozen yogurts and sorbets are made in-store daily. Customers choose flavors like sweet cream, cake batter or banana, add mix-ins--ranging from candy bar chunks and Gummi bears to hot fudge and peanut butter--then servers mash it all together on a frozen slab of granite.
Soars above the average ice cream chain – This place is awesome. The ice cream flavors are pretty standard, with some special ones mixed in (Cotton Candy's big right now). The selection of toppings is immense, and there's a menu of tried-and-true topping mixtures that will send your head spinning! Chances are, it'll take forever to decide; once you do, it's so much fun to watch the magic happen: they use spatulas to mix your chosen toppings into the ice cream for a truly personalized flavor. It takes a few minutes longer than your average chain, and yes, it's more pricey. But it's worth it! The product is higher quality, and frankly, you don't need as much of it. I say if you're going to have ice cream, do it right!!
Cold Stone Gooey – The Cold Stone Creamery ice cream isn't like real ice cream -- it's sticky and gooey, and leaves a greasy feeling on the roof of your mouth after eating a spoon or two. When the CSC shops are busy, service is really slow. Pass this one by!
I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT! – Cold Stone Creamery has the best ice cream around. If you want to create your own ice cream and enjoy it then this is the place to go. Ever since I found out about this place I will never go back to Baskin Robbins or any other ice cream place every again. You will never find a taste like that anywhere else. I highly recommend going there and plus you put a doller in the tip jar they will sing you a song. What is better than that?
The ice cream sucks! – This place is vastly overrated - the ice cream is mediocre at best, no matter how many add-ins you throw into the mix.
Are you kidding me!? – If you think Cold Stone Creamery has the best desert or ice cream around then you must: a) not get out much; b) think frozen sugar equals good ice cream; or c) suck on a salt lick all day. Cold Stone Creamery is the biggest gimmick in town when it comes to Ice Cream. It is not only an expensive and totally overated massed produced franchise, but it serves some of the poorest quality ice cream money can buy.
Good on Occassion – I was once a doubter that others mushing my ice cream added any value to my dessert. I'm still skeptical, but did have a good first overall experience. My friend and I detailed *exactly* how we wanted our Sweet Cream Ice Cream, White Cake, Strawberry, Blackberry concoction made ... and were pleased with the result. That's because we started with a vision in mind.
I'd say that when I want my dream mix made, and it's not available in the store, and I don't have time or ingredients to do it myself, I'd go here.
The service was exuberant to say the least (singing songs, etc.) The line was long.
Not exactly number 2... – Ice cream is average. That said, the gimmick lies in the choice consumers have to mix "stuff" in their ice cream. Huge scoops of ice cream to please any 14 year old and you have to eat it fast or risk wearing it home.
stone cold great – I discovered this gem in Candler Park while visiting Atlanta this summer. Why are there no shops in San Francisco?
Sin is in @ Coldstone... – I stumbled in at a Coldstone outlet in Sherman Oaks,CA not knowing what to expect. I like it!!! Just give urself a few minutes to pick ur ice cream and choices of topping to go w/ it. I am also glad that Coldstone has made it to the Bay Area! I try to stop in when ever I can.
