phenomenal food. My boyfriend and I have been regulars here for some time, and every experience is excellent. The menus are always wonderfully composed, the service is superb, super yummy drinks( although pricey drinks), and tantalizing desserts. It is always the most satisfying culinary excursion: we've never had a bad meal-- it is my favorite restaurant in Oakland by far.

We Need More Like This in Oakland. What a surprise to find this good a place right here in Oakland! The food was very good in terms of taste and presentation, 8.9 out of 10, but expensive. The restaurant is just the right size, and the ambience is great, due to the bar and just the right amount of lighting. Our server was very nice, but the food was a little slow in coming out. Overall, my favorite restaurant in Oakland.

One of the best in East Bay!. I just adore this restaurant....the service was excellent and the food-- to die for. The presentation and the quality was perfection- my rib meat was wonderfully tender, and my boyfriend was equally pleased with his sirloin. The ambiance is warm, and the seating is cozy-- and the triple kill chocolate dessert was to die for! Highly recommended!

good food. We eat here often and the food is consistently good. Everything is fresh and they do change the menu frequently, keeping the regular items and adjusting for seasonal ingredients. Here, everything on the plate, including the starch and vegtable, is flavorful and made fresh. The desserts are fabulous and also made on site. The bread pudding, beignets, and molten chocolate cake are wonderful. Love the pork chops, love the scallops, love the pear/brie/carmelized onion pizza. I have always found the service to be good. Some of their tables for two are a little close together. You probably don't need a reservation unless it is saturday night or you have a party of more than 4.

Very Good Food. Went there at 8:30pm as a walk in Wed night. They took us in happily knowing they would close in 30 minutes. Appetizer came and they waited till we were done before bringing the entrees. Highly recommend the brined pork chop with mushroom risotto! Excellent flavor and juicy and the risotto was cooked well and was a perfect accompaniment. Offered us dessert and did not rush us at all even though we were the last people there. Waiter was attentive and was helpful with suggestions.

Don't bother. The service at Mezze is consistently awful, from the snooty bartender to the surly busboy. I thought it may have been a fluke the first time, so I went there a second time, but it was still horrible. The food is good, but not great. But they charge great food prices. The ambience has the potential to be relaxing unless you're seated at one of the two-tops in the middle of the restaurant next to the kitchen where you are close enough to hit elbows with the person seated at the table next to you.

Service and food are sub-par. We've been here 3 times. Each time the service was really slow, and the food kept getting worse. The last time I had salmon that tasted VERY old. When the I told owner she just argued with me. Let's face it, bad fish is pretty obvious. For the money you can find better food at many other restaurants and whole lot less attitude.

The best thing to happen to Lakeshore. What an improvement to the neighborhood! Finally an upscale alternative to the local fare. The menu continues to metamorphose with a few favorite hold outs. Service is professional yet friendly.
