The Scene – A converted spa showroom hidden between acres of humdrum business sprawl might seem like an unlikely spot for nightlife in Fremont, but after 25 years of success further south in San Jose, the Rack knows how to party. This location attracts a diverse crowd with troughs full of cold beer, a stage you could park an 18-wheeler on, and yes, there's even a mechanical bull. – – The Draw – Three bars corral the massive split-level dance floor, so if you aren't ready to show the world your two-step, just head to the saloon near the back for a view of the bull…

I love seeing the Chippendales when they come since it always makes me feel good. My favorite skits are Cowboy and Hero! The guys are so sweet and so easy on the eyes. Ladies you can't miss them when they come to the Saddlerack!

save a horse ride the mechanical b ull

First of all, I hate country music. With that said, I love the Saddlerack!!! I have gone several times with my friends and we always have a great time. The live band that is usually there when we go, Appaloosa, is always really good. The music they play is pop-country and actually a lot of rock-and-roll. They keep the crowd involved and invite the entire crowd of girls on stage to dance during certain songs. The people there are generally very friendly and you feel pretty safe mingling and dancing with whoever you want. I always have a good time with my friends riding the b ull and getting drinks at the barber chair. Definately reccommend the saddlerack for anyone looking to have an awesome time and dance the entire night away!!

  • Pros: music, dancing, atmosphere
  • Cons: sometimes very crowded - long wait at the bar

Worst Ever!

by TSCH

I had the most shocking experience I have ever had at a bar here a few weeks ago. I was visiting in Fremont from Los Angeles and three of my young professional friends were supposed to attend a students-free Standford Graduate School mixer here. We drove quite a ways to get to the spot only to show up and immediately be pushed into the rail by one of the bouncers screaming: FIGHT! A whole series of bouncers then proceeded to run around and into my friends and proceed to take the next 15 minutes mashing 2 guys' faces into the floor. We then sat and watched as an aggressive yet unrestrained woman proceeded to take the opportunity to slash her stiletto into the face of one of the guys as her drunk friends (also unrestrained) flailed around outside. After sitting outside getting pushed around for 15 minutes, we calmly waited for 2 bloody and bruised men to be escorted out around us and then attempted to show a 70-year-woman who reeked of smoke our IDs for the student-free mixer. She denied that there was such an event and claimed that it would be $20 a person to enter. As we were pulling out our money to pay the preposterous entry fee for the bar an equally foul smelling 70-year-old man came and informed us that they did not want our business and sent us away. We left shocked but happy not to have known what might have occurred had we entered that forsaken institution.

  • Pros: Could get some aggression out here if you need to
  • Cons: Liability for broken bones, overpriced, poor service
