Great food good price. We love Portumex! It's a family owned, family friendly place with great food at reasonable prices. We especially love the ceviche, but the carnitas is also delicious. They give you a lot of food! Go hungry.

You order at the cash register. There is almost always a line, but you should be able to find a table. It's busy for a reason. It's kind of a hole in the wall, but all the locals know about it, and it's very popular. The service is friendly and fast.

Really Good Real Mexican-American Food. If you like REAL Mexican-American food with a mix

of people neighborhood folks,

families. working class people and

many devoted regulars....Potumex is your place!

They serve breakfast, lunch dinner pancakes to

burritos, enchiladas, soups (not veggie), tostadas,tacos,

and more!

NO LARD in anything.

Inexpensive & filling. Friendly staff,homey , crowded

but cozy. Friendly atmosphere.

Don't feel reluctant to go there because it

is in Richmond.....We've eaten there 50 plus

times and NEVER had a problem. It may be a little hard to

find ..... After you exit Highway 580

23rd St is 2 ways then 1 way and then 2 ways ..... after

it becomes 2 ways again Portumex is a block and a half on the

left(west) side of the street. It looks like a house with

a patio deck in front. Turn left at the next corner for their

parking lot and off street parking.

Great Portuguese/Mexican food!. I tell as many people as I can about this place! It quite simply has the best Latin food I have ever had! Highley recomended!
