Great Italian Food with a nice Bay view

Salute is right on the Marina and serves great Italian food. The staff is friendly and attentive. They also have a nice friendly bar where yo can usually catch your favorite sporting events on the two televisions. It is not the least expensive place around, however the food is worth it.

Salute is in the Marina Bay neighborhood!!!!

I take umbrage on Lerslie's S comments about Salute. . Salute is located in our upscale, professional-filled, family-friendly , and SAFE Marina Bay neighborhood.

Richmond has suffered from a bad reputation all because of a very small area where violent crime does occur. But that area is in the Iron Triangle (other side of freeway) and North Richmond. If you check statistics, hardly any crime, especially violent crime , occurs in our neighborhood. Cities like San Francisco and Seattle have similar neighborhoods. Richmond is not unique.

Please retract your statement and set aside your prejudices. We are on the water, many are gated communities, we enjoy the yacht club next to Salute, and we care for our neighbors and our community.

Next time, please check your facts first!!!! And yes, we will welcome you and your family and friends if you decide to come back to our Marina Bay neighborhood.

Salute by the bay

Quaint this restaurant really is. The hostess and staff remain personable and attentive to one's needs. The San Pablo visible from almost any seat in the window-area. A family oriented dining place, which mind you, is children (well-behaved, that is) friendly. The appetizers are oh, so scrumptious - from the deep-fried calamari to fresh basil caprese. The cosmo-cocktails not to mention, are yummy, as well. Quite a selection of main entries also served - from fresh sea bass to the most tender, melt-in-your mouth filet mignon, along with the made-from-scratch pasta. This is a favorite place of ours- hubby and daughter.

• Cons: Discourages cooking at home, which is so close to the Bay.
