I've been going there for years but like they say, nothing stays the same forever. It was a nice place to bowl back then but now I've noticed its a bit more strict the employes are not that friendly and the shoes are a bit worn. I go for the pool tables but sometimes its not always that fun. You have to check it out for yourself.
Albany Bowl = Fun Times

Yes, I joined a bowling league.... every Wednesday I drink beer, bowl three games and eat great thai food. You can even get beer in a bowling pin bottle - or a cheap pitcher if you're a real guzzler on a budget. The thai food and regular greasy spoon fare at the in house restaurant are amazing!! Yum, I mean the best food I've ever had at a bowling alley. The lanes can break down sometimes and eat your ball, but hey.. that's part of the charm. This place is old school... and I love it that way!
- Pros: food + beer!!
- Cons: ball return may eat your ball
Absolutely awful

I went with a group of friends on Saturday night, and we were treated extremely rudely after paying $14 a person. In addition, the equipment in our lane started to malfunction and we couldn't continue our second game. We went to talk to the employee at the desk, and he said he could do nothing about it. We asked to talk to a manager, and when the employee went to speak to him, we watched as he just laughed at us from a distance and brushed us off. We were getting upset because they were essentially stealing our money, and then to top it off they accused us of being belligerent and had their security guards escort us out. Go anywhere else to bowl, you are guaranteed to have significantly better service and not have your money stolen. I know I will never go here again.
Avoid at all costs. Cheated out of our money. We payed for 4 games but they only let us play 3!

I went to Albany Bowl recently for a friends birthday party. I should have known what to expect form this place when we were greeted by two thuggish looking dudes sitting behind a raggedy table. Thats fine, I don't judge. So we buy our 2 game minimum each and have a good time playing, buying beer and giving lots of business to this place. When my friend shows up, we bought 2 more games. In the middle of the 3rd game they turned off one of our lanes and refused to let us finish the games. They obviously made a mistake but would not admit to it. This place is trashy. The customer service is poor. Do your self a favor and go to any other, much better run bowling alleys in the area. Two thumbs down.
- Cons: Rude Service, Dirty Surroundings, Poorly Trained Employees
Been there 3 times in the past month!!! I bowled a TURKEY!

This place is what community is all about. Great place for large groups, I witnessed a bowling mixer/contest with Cal & Columbia MBA graduates, then caught a man just miss 2 perfect 300 by two pins (a woman on the other side of the bowling alley got one at the same time.) Families & groups of friends can be seen all around, the food from the cafe is PERFECT for bowling frames and snacking, and the renovated Tierney's Sports Bar is pouring great cocktails & pitchers of beer. Nuff said? Check it out!
- Pros: Bar, Food, Family Friendly, Great for Birthdays
- Cons: Big place, one cocktail waitress.
