Wonderful, friendly service and great food!. Mama Lan's is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the East Bay! The food is always terrific and the service is very cheerful and prompt.
Neighborhood place for a nice dinner out. My husband and I went at 7 pm on a Saturday night with no reservation and got a table right away, though several other groups aferward had to wait. It's a small place and can get loud, but the food is really good and it feels like a neighborhood place. My husband advises to get an appetizer too, because the portions are a bit small. Mama's has tasty, NOT pricy Vietnamese food, well prepared and served by caring wait staff. However, this is not the place to come for Pho. They specialize in crab and do it nicely, and, I believe,
they have garlic noodles. So, if you can't get to Thanh Long, try here.....
