Good Breakfast, Great Service, Very Comfortable. Nice and quiet. If you get there early enough on the weekends there is plenty of room and extremely fast service. Pancakes and eggs are great; love there special jam too. I'm a regular on the weekends and will continue to be for many years to come.
Editorial Review. Environmentally friendly bakery in Albany serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.
Go anywhere else!!. I've never had such an unpleasant time in a restaurant, hands down. For one thing, the place is supposed to specialize in pie, but the pies were soggy, with tasteless crust that might as well have been cardboard and bland fillings. The service was terrible and my prime rib was frankly disgusting. Plus, the prices were far too high for the low quality of the food. With all the great restaurants in the Bay Area, save yourself the experience I had, and go somewhere else. Anywhere else!
The very best pies!. Walker's has good dinners, which include soup, salad, popovers, main course with starch and veggies cooked al dente, and a choice of at least 15 pies. I recently discovered the scallops entree, and they are tender and delicious. Since I no longer eat beef, this was a delightful find. The pies are the absolute best I've tasted, with a light crust and wonderful fillings. Try the lemon chiffon for a real taste treat, although my husband can't say enough about the cherry pie.
Long-time Fan.
I discovered Walker's in 1978 on a trip to a quilt shop that used to be across the street. The quilt shop is long gone but I keep going back to Walkers and have brought everyone I know and love there...and they all keep going back.
I now live in Nevada but get back to The City 3 or 4 times a year. I go to Walker's as many times as I can on each visit. I love the food there, it's just like going to my Grandma's to eat...except that I don't have to help with the dishes.
Total comfort food.
My husband and I enjoy going to Walkers when were in the mood for comfort food. The menu is hearty and delicious, but not fancy, so foodies beware: there wasnt anything on the menu with pine nuts or mango salsa the last time we were there.
Full dinners come with really tasty popovers, and dessert a slice of one of their many flavors of pie. I love their berry pies, and my husband is a fan of their cream pies.
Their hours are for those who enjoy an early dinner, so its not the spot for a late night supper.
