Real Mediterranean Food. One of the few Mediterranean joints that actually serves food close to authentic dishes. I am not saying they are just like your mom's or friend's mom's homemade dishes... But they are as close as you are going to get.

A bit pricey for the broke college student, but well worth it as there are many familiar faces I always see around. Some visits are better than others, but almost always the prices are very fair and justified.

Very friendly and professional servers and bartenders. My experience there is always positive, it is a gem of a restaurant not only on College Ave., but in Berkeley.

Not That good. I heard so much about them so I decided to give them a try... I have to say I was disappointed. the food was not that good, mixer of sweet and savory that didn't really set very good in my mouth. Also the prices wayyyy to expensive. one time was enough for me.

Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors. Restaurant serving Mediterranean dishes, prix fixe menu, catering, by the piece and salads by the quart.

Trois location not so good!. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of La Med! I enjoy the Noe St location and when I want to get my shop on, with some yummy food in-between, I head over to the Fillmore St location. So I'm one of thoose city people that scuff at the idea of "going over the bridge" for an outing! So I bite my tongue and headed over to La Med to begin my Sunday outing. So when we get there and they don't have La Med's perfect sized lunch menu, which I have ordered from the other two locations on weekends, I knew this place was "different". When I asked the waitress why no lunch menu, I was told it was now only dinner. It was 1:15pm! Okay, so I ordered my fave, the chicken kabab with the yummy lemon chicken soup. The other two locations prepare the soup like a puree. Feels great going down! The Berkeley soup was chunky and lumpy with whole pieces of chicken and pasta. The kebab was dry and didn't have that great taste that I'm used too. The lemons were good! In a nutshell, I'll stick to this side of the bay for my La Med fix!

tasty food and good catering. I've eaten at all locations of this restaurant over the years and have always enjoyed my meal. In addition, they have a great menu of catered items, such as chicken cilicia and tiny spanikopita, which I like to get as finger food for parties.

Mediocre Food. I just read all the reviews and I sort of agree with some of them. The only thing I probably like there is the atmosphere, nice cozy little patio outside and good service. The food is so so. According to one review the chicken is dry, and the lamb kabob lacks flavor, so if you are a meat lover this place may not be the one for you....

Great food!. I've been here a ton of times and never get sick of the food. Get the sampler appetizer platter which allows you to try everything on the menu. This gives you great variety and you can get a little bit of everything. They have a chicken pie thing that has raisens and chicken in it and is delicious!

My favorite. The Bay Area is a food mecca, we all know that. And yes, there are plenty of great expensive restaurants out there. But my most important standby is La Med. I have a driving need to eat there at least once a month. My experience with taking people to La Med is this: they either love it or hate it. And I love it. The hummus is so, so yummy, the mediterranean drip coffee, the fabulous chocolate mousse, and my normal entree: vegetarian middle eastern plate. But I used to eat meat here and it was always good too. Only drawbacks I ever noticed: sometimes pita bread isn't the freshest, and their chicken could, at times, be a bit dry. But the ambience -- whether for a nice early breakfast, a leisurely and lovely lunch, or a cozy, romantic dinner -- is tops. Go there!
