Editorial Review for Berkeley City Club – by Gayot.com

The Scene
It should come as no surprise that the Berkeley City Club has been designated a California State Historical Landmark. It was designed by the famed Hearst Castle architect, Julia Morgan, who left no detail unturned. This masterpiece is a mixture of Gothic and Moorish influences. Its excellent service and lovely surroundings also make it popular for banquets, seminars and meetings.

The Details
Vaulted beveled-wood ceilings and tropical nooks in the gardens are just a few of the fine touches that make this hotel museum-worthy. It boasts a gorgeous, five-lane swimming pool enveloped in vibrant tiling. Almost all of the 28 rooms feature views of the Berkeley Hills. Compared with the extravagant nature of the hotel's public spaces, the rooms are slightly plain. Standard amenities do not include TVs.
