User review by kasumi34. If you're looking for a casual evening-out, this is a great place to go. The sushi is fresh and delicious and the value, while not dirt cheap, is by no means expensive. We found the dining room relatively full on Sunday night and the waiters rather curt as they rushed about trying to please everyone. Barring that, it was a wonderful place. Joshu-ya's is a little cramped and the music out-of-place, but it's relaxed and confortable. Order the meal deals for two--great value and great food.

Absolutely amazing!. Food here is incredible, one of the best Japanese restaurants in Berkeley. The fish here is always fresh and the environment warm and cozy. The chef is amazing and the waiters are very friendly. Only downside is the long wait on Friday nights, but you can RSVP ahead of time.

Definitely a great to make a regular.
