Mel's is OK. It's good. But the service will make you want too walk out(I have). The waiters are young highschool/college aged kids, that don't seem too care about the customers.( I waited for 20 mins before I walked out.) The prices have gone way up, but I heard the food is "healther" for you(Some Organic) for a family of 4 or more expect too pay 35 to 50 dollars on your meal. The cooks seem to care because the food is always hot and VERY tasty. I 'v never had a BAD meal from MEL's

Is the Diner thing still cool?. I'm not sure about the whole diner theme, I thought the fad was over.Anyway, this place is pretty cool, especially at night. The kids get helium balloons(two if they cry) and the food is great even for vegetarians which is weird in a burger joint.

We had a large group and they still put together a table for us.

The prices are ok, it seems like food is expensive all over the bay.

Our server was really cute, she was wearing a pink wig!

She wanted to see the same movie we were going to next door, but had to work.

the Original but not the Best!. This Mel's has all the food you expect a Mel's to have. If you are craving Mel's and are in the area it's a good place to go.

The prices are pretty reasonable as diner/restaurants go. The service ranges from ok to just horrible. A lot of obnoxious waiters and waitresses work here who don't know what service means. Sometimes you're lucky though.

There are many other great dining options in the area, so this would be my last choice.. unless of course you are craving the Mel Burger or a cherry coke.
